Very frustrating night. So many players well below par.
Jeremy Howe was a surprise highlight up forward.
The saving grace is we’re still on top and it’s in our hands to secure top spot and a home final. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Dunno why Mihocek went home at quarter time. Or had he got his goal for the game? Perhaps move him back to defence, where he started, and put a bloke who can mark, say Jeremy Howe for example, to the forward line.
McStay needs to look in the mirror so he can see he is actually a big boy who can use his size, sort of like Tom Hawkins. Ginnivan crumbing in the forward line would have been useful.
We looked really sluggish - not sure if they were still playing last week's game but they fumbled, did not get numbers to the ball, play in front or be anywhere near the fall of the ball from spilled marks, and handballed wildly.
I can stand getting beaten but not by effing Carlton.
And 3 more scoring shots. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

A lot of work to do and I’m sure McRae will admit that. Only excuse I can think of is inaccuracy and coming off a slog last week. |

Bris will likely take top spot from us if they beat us at Marvel.
I hate to say it but we’re one trick pony’s right now. Naicos or bust. _________________ Est. 2002 |

I am looking forward to hear what Fly says about this loss. Diabolical inaccuracy on goal played a major part, but Curnow's 6 goals must ring alarm bells. Moving Howe forward got some reward, but that seems a desperate move. Not able to make any headway in the last quarter perhaps a sign of exhaustion.
I am bitterly disappointed we couldn't get it done tonight because we have consecutive challenging games over the next few weeks. We just need one more win to consolidate a top 2 finish. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Big question mark over Mason……again
Would suggest dropping him for Ash. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Dominated last half and didn't get anywhere.
Why pick Cox if you are only to play him every now and then
Adams was shocking.
The team looked tired.
Same with Nick Daicos ....looks very tired. |

Any loss to the scum in not on but a 3 goal loss considering the circumstances of the game is more of a condemnation of how lucky the scum were - despite how well they played.
Look at the actual scoreline and remember where those set shot goals were missed from and the players that missed them.
We played poorly but everything that could go right for the scum went right and it went right all night.
Frustrating night. |

Yeah, good luck holding Top 2, boys. Contested teams, all with monsters inside F50. Ouch. _________________ Est. 2002 |

That's a timely reminder of what happens when the intensity over the ball and in the contest is down. That drop in intensity also showed in the goal kicking.
Carlton played well, but were fortunate to play us at this juncture when it was all-or-nothing for them.
You do hate flirting with form, though, especially given what lies ahead.
The Howe experiment was a bonus. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

This is on the coaching staff. We don’t ‘manage’ players. Well, maybe you should. We look spent. _________________ Est. 2002 |
