Was he a part of Hawthorn’s Next Gen Academy? Meaning he had to get passed pick 40 for Hawthorn to be able to match any bid for him?
I know the player Essendon took 2 picks later was a Dogs Academy and the Dogs weren't pleased. They got him at 39. 1 pick later and the Dogs could match. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Wonder what number he'll get?
Wore 15 in juniors, taken by Krueger.
Brother wore 29 in first three seasons at Hawks. Taken by Richards.
Brother now wears 9 for Hawks. Noble has 9.
8, 12, 19, 20, 21, 27, 33 are up for grabs. A few players like Markov or Harrison might look at changing numbers too. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Congratulations TJ. He looks like a great footy prospect and an outstanding kid.
IQ will make a great mentor as well. |

Reading through these posts, there is a common theme…agree
A few weeks ago, I skimmed over just one of his highlight vids, just seemed too raw, I didn't give him much thought.
In light of his selection, I have looked through all of his footage through a different lens.
Really crisp hands, natural evasion, good in traffic, seemingly a good decision maker. Running around, he reminds me of a newly born foal finding its legs for the first time.
Not only do I think I have not seen such a raw yet rounded recruit before, what's ridiculous is I even get a sense of 'presence'.
I guess huge scope of improvement in him. This kid has a chance to be a Gun. |

Once he adds a few kilos of muscle I reckon he'll be a terrific player. Who knows, he may even grow a couple of cms taller as well.
I love the fact that he and his family are Pies supporters. Daisy Thomas and Pendles were his footy heroes as a kid. |

1-4 yr players start Monday 27/11
The rest 7 days later
Both Harry and Tew have visited with their families.
There are af hoc players training and I would guess they is a good chance they would want to join in.
It is a Professional environment, perhaps they have been given a simple excercise progarm. Id say they are there.. they looked keen as mustard. |

If not already posted, apparently we should pronounce Tew as the first syllable of tower. _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

I know they offered 13 to Harry DeMattia, but after seeing Tew specifically say Daisy Thomas was his childhood hero, I'd love to see him get that number.
I'm sure Lumumba would like to see Tew get the #8 which is also available. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

#13 would have been a nice association for a player that idolised Daisy Thomas.
But #8? Tew Jiath has as much connection with Heritier Lumumba as I do.
I read one comparing Jiath to Allir Allir, who was born in Kenya to South Sudanese parents.
Tew Jiath was born in Ethiopia to South Sudanese parents.
I was born in Wagga Wagga, so was Michael Slater. That's where the comparison ended. _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

Just trying to see where I'm comparing both players....
Or where I'm talking about where they're born...
