The following players are out of contract come seasons end (2024), but all would need to be traded for;
* Logan McDonald (Young gun Forward).
*Errol Gulden (Gun mid. Swans wont trade, but imagine!!).
*Zak Butters. (Gun mid. Port wont trade, but imagine!!).
*Connor Rozee (Gun mid. Port wont trade).
*Changkuoth Jiath (Interesting....!!)
*Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (Young gun FF)
*Bailey Smith (Problematic, but can be a gun)
Free Agents of note;
Tim English, Cam Zurhaar, Tom Stewart, Jarrod Berry, Jack Graham, Andrew McGrath, Hugh "our of bounds" McCluggage, Ben Ainsworth, Todd Marshall, Jarrod Witts
Collingwood Free Agents:
Will Hoskin-Elliott, Jeremy Howe, Oleg Markov, Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

How old will Witts be then?
WC are circling English. |

Witts is 31 now.
Collingwood wouldn't be interested in either - if you trade one ruckman out for "salary cap balance", you don't trade in guys who aren't half as good as - and already on more money than - your current rucks. |

Well he is a free agent. And we did go for Goldstein a month ago.
FWIW, I dont know its a great fit. And I'd be highly surprised if he was anywhere near our highlighted names and if he's even been spoken about. But we do need a bit of depth in ruck.
Got a feeling we'll be more involved in free agency and trades next year. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I’d rather develop Steene and Begg (& the tall we picked up in the supplementary draft) than get those two. Collingwood were silly buggers to trade out Witts in the first place but it’s too late to get him back now, unless it is for a Hudson type role in the VFL team. _________________ I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. 100% Lazzadesilva time to be patient with the likes of begg and steene.
they will further secure our long term tall stocks. |

Yup, though easier to see in hindsight. Sadly, we traded out the wrong ruckman. |

I expect Wittsy will get 40 Brownlow votes over 2024 and 2025 (to go with his 10 total career Brownlow vpotes to date) and correct the weird anomaly, whereby the guy we kept accidentally dominated the competition for 2 years and won 2 Club B&Fs while we made successive deep Finals runs with a hopeless team led by a useless coach. |
