Well I think that making Smith captain is silly. The guy isn't established in test cricket. What it does show is a lack of senior players with any willingness to take on responsibility and a real lack of depth. It's going to be a tough few years for South Africa.

JLC, What's this tainted business? Please explain how it made things hard for Pollock to captain.

Who were the disappointments for SA in this WC? Kallis (failed with bat and ball), Dippenaar, Kirsten, Boucher and Pollock (all down on their batting form), Klusener (bungled the first game at the batting crease and bowled poorly in the others). All white blokes, aren't they.

Who did best? Batting: Gibbs. Bowling: Ntini. Both coloured.

It's the captain's job to get the best out of his players. Pollock had the chance to observe a master in this dept. when they were getting destroyed by Australia. He oserved, possibly he learned but he certainly failed to put any of it into action with his own team.

Donald was simply a bad selection. Past his use by and carrying an injury. After all, Haywood and McKenzie were available.

Well Kirsten is an old man who i dont think offered much to the team in the first place.

Gibbs is coloured but in relation to bribery!!!!!!!!!

The players they had in reserve were the coloured players who wernt good enough to cut it against the better opposition.

One thing about Pollock is that he is very competitive and along with Kallis would be the two players that Australia respect the most.

Pollock is nothing more than a scapegoat to take the heat off the selectors. The NUMBER ONE test nation in the world sacks their captain!!!! How FUNNY is that.......thats just too funny to even justify.

The only funny part is how long they waited to sack him!

As I said, he should've gone during or after the Test series against Australia.
