Apparently they are asking clubs to put up new ways to increase the intake of indigenous players into AFL

Would it not be better to base intake on talent ????

Talent is one thing - equipping indigenous kids from highly disadvantaged backgrounds with the skills to make the leap to living in suburban Melbourne etc is quite another.

Oh and I agree to increase the living standard of possibly less advantaged
As long as we don’t loose sight that all are equal at the starting stalls

BazBoy dude, the problem is the gap between the idealistic views and the actual reality. You’d like to believe that all are equal at the starting stalls but the process of all players getting there is not equal. They need a better identified and marked pathway for some players to be able to get opportunities like many others have. Very happy to promote equality in all areas of their journey just to get to the starting stalls in the first place.
