What a season, what a recruit! Recruit of the year? Travis Varcoe may have to compete for that title with fellow Magpie recruit Jack Crisp. I remember when the news came through that Varcoe was on his way to Collingwood & I can remember there were not too many that excited about the move. A player much disliked by Magpie supporters thanks to what he did to us while at Geelong. Now a career many thought was on the slide, would a fresh start help? Around 12 months later & Travis Varcoe is reborn. A career best season has his name amongst talk surrounding the Copeland Trophy & deservedly so. His hunt & pressure for the pill, the never say die attitude and the highlight package that he has brought, Varcoe now is one of the most popular players at the club. An excellent season by Travis Varcoe, deserving many praises.
