RIP Maurice, may your family honour you, both on the field and off.

Sad to hear of this. Maurice Rioli was the first of what has become a long list of great indigenous players from the Tiwi islands.

This is terribly sad news. Maurice Rioli was a genuinely great player ahead of his time, and an ambassador for his people. His nephew Cyril may well win a Brownlow one day, and for those too young to have seen Maurice play, Cyril's genius gives you a pretty good idea. RIP.

I know we love to give it to the Aint's. A better form of sport is hard to find.
But if or when the inevitable occurs to the doc, please look past the jumper and respect the man for the way her went about his footy and his life.

Always had a lot of respect for Darrel Baldock. A hard player, and a good one.

had to laugh at the byline that suggested baldock was 'st kilda's only living premiership captain".

i find it a sad reflection on things that you had to preface the op with a call for respect.

will be sad to see the likes of baldock pass away. hope he recovers from this latest episode.

It hasn't been great for Baldock, his daughter was killed in a car accident, he suffered a stroke as well a few years back. He lives on his farm in Latrobe.

I've never met him, but I've heard a lot around here that have said he's a good bloke, it's very sad to hear about Darryl.

Will be a sad day down here when he passes on.
