This is one of those days when it sucks to be a footy supporter.

We knew it was coming but it doesn't make it any easier.

To the family and friends of Jim Stynes, to Melbourne supporters and football lovers everywhere, my sincere condolences and sympathy on behalf of my family and me.

RIP Mr Stynes: A true gentleman has passed away. You touched the lives of many disadvantaged young people in Melbourne and those that knew you will never forget you.

Very sad news. One of my favourite non-Collingwood players when I was a kid. Always respected and admired him. RIP.
