Sorry Rudi, but the only fact is that we don't really know anything. Everything else is pure speculation.RudeBoy wrote:The fact is the club knows Cloke is heading elsewhere.

You know what..
compare it to any other situation you like but unless David Cloke is the manager in those scenarios it's just not comparable by a long shot

I understand where you are coming from, but sometimes by not responding to questions you end up adding more fuel to the fire. If the media wants to twist something, they will.nomadjack wrote:Not suggesting that Cloke and his management are innocent in any of this. I think their side has handled things incredibly poorly. But let's not guild the lily about how the club has handled things. Bucks doesn't have to say anything except 'I'm not discussing player contracts'. I think he's a fantastic coach, but quite frankly I don't care how 'refreshing' his honesty is, if it escalates the level of angst and media attention and by doing so, makes signing players more difficult. I don't agree with all elements of the Barrett and Ralph articles but there is plenty enough in both to suggest that the club has not handled things as well as it could have.

Yeah, good point. Mate, David Cloke has bent over the Collingwood Football Club throughout this entire saga. He twice agreed to the offer Collingwood put to him only to come back and ask for more.eddiesmith wrote:Deja Vu wrote:I think collingwood are practically blameless in this.
As far as I can tell, only one party has been negotiating in good faith.
What a crock of shit
We have a salary cap that we need to abide by and most players will not get what they are asking for. The Clokes think that they are above everybody else and as a result of this stupidity it will probably cost us any chance of winning this year's flag as well as retaining Trav post this season.

No, its not fact, its your opinion.RudeBoy wrote:The fact is the club knows Cloke is heading elsewhere. By talking about only wanting players who want to be at Collingwood, the club is simply preparing supporters for Cloke's eventual departure. It's not about pressuring Demir or Travis Cloke. He's gonski. It's about sending a message to supporters and to the rest of the team.
And it is the problem with threads such as this.
What you call fact is nothing of the kind.
You have no evidence not even a direct quote from a reliable source, but you continue to peddle it as fact.
It isn't

How about this thenDeja Vu wrote:I think collingwood are practically blameless in this.

In March Cloke told the Club he wouldn't discuss his contract until the end of the season
In May the Club implores Cloke to open negotiations
In July the Club tells Cloke that it intends to put off negotiations til the end of the season
Had the Club stuck with Clokes initial decision NONE of this would have occurred.

I'm sick of all the media driven bullshit hype about this, Travis will be a Collingwood player in 2013 and beyond.
If, on the off chance that I'm wrong, I'm prepared to set a date and time and buy everyone here who says he's going drinks at the Westpac centre.
PROVIDED that everyone who signs up is willing to commit to pay for drinks for me and those I deem the faithful.
What say you, put your money where my mouth is?
I was going to promise to put up a sex video involving Mandy and myself on Redtube but 5150 tells me Mandy is starting to develop a resistance to chloroform so that idea got shelved.
