As far as I can tell, only one party has been negotiating in good faith.
How about this then

In March Cloke told the Club he wouldn't discuss his contract until the end of the season
In May the Club implores Cloke to open negotiations
In July the Club tells Cloke that it intends to put off negotiations til the end of the season

Had the Club stuck with Clokes initial decision NONE of this would have occurred.
You're right. None of this would have happened, but he would nevertheless have ended up at Carlton at the end of the season. Clearly the club wanted to avoid this by making its best offer known to him and trying to persuade him to stay with us. He has chosen to reject that offer. The only conclusion I can reach from this is that he he headed out the door...as was Scully and Ablett, who each put off a decision until the end of the season.

At the end of Cloke's last contract, he also did not make a decision till the end of the season. So no, that's not the only conclusion, unless Cloke's been playing for some other team the last couple of years.

The only conclusion you, or anyone on the outside can make, is that Cloke and the club have yet to come to terms. Anything else is speculation.
Well done boys!

^^ good article. David "tells it like it is". Pretty simple really - it's about the difference between 4 or 5 years, and 800 seems like the figure that he's talking about. Considering David played till he was 67, 30 doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for Trav.....

You could be forgiven for thinking he will stay based on that article.
