You could be forgiven for thinking he will stay. Asked on that article.
He clearly wants to stay. That would be the only reason to do this interview, to put all the naysayers straight. It's the only possible conclusion.
Well done boys!

this thread started back on 9th july when dtm posted the following:
Dave The Man wrote:
COLLINGWOOD has moved to end the impasse with Travis Cloke as the frustrated parties gather tonight in an attempt to thrash out his contract.

The relationship between Cloke's managers - his father David, and Ralph Carr - and the Magpies has deteriorated in recent weeks, particularly since Travis Cloke appeared on The Footy Show and confirmed his bid for a five-year contract.

Magpies president Eddie McGuire fronted the meeting, which started at 7pm, on behalf of the Magpies, with football manager Geoff Walsh and chief executive Gary Pert also expected to be in attendance.
Hopefully they give him the Take the Deal

since then, and not unlike the trend of many other threads on nicks, it has manifested into a soap opera of name calling, uninformed, ill informed opinion reported as fact, jilted lover wailing, defamatory, inflammatory statements. sadly, no mention of a trumpet.

then there's about 6 of us who have repeatedly, calmly, rationally and unemotively stated he will stay.

at the end of the day, i blame dtm for creating the thread.

I read the article, and just have some reservations on it. IF things were as straightforward as the Cloke Clan are saying, as they state, just one sticking point of the 5 years, I cannot see how the Club would have dragged it out for so long, if THAT ALONE was the only difference between the parties. Remember, this is the Clokes clan version of events, from their myopic view, are they sugar coating a few things or what. ?
I remain highly sceptical, but if im wrong, im happy to be wrong. But I just cant help not think there is a 3rd party waiting in the wings, ready to pounce on Travis, their fail safe plan, could be the Bloooooze. Time will tell. !

Thanks JW - surely DTM can't leave now... or has he climbed the mountain top? :)

And who are your fellow rocks - with vulcan-like logic? They should be named and famed/shamed when the ink finally flows...

Well it's like this.

On one side you have the dark - those who have similar fortitude of that of Chicken Little (the sky is falling ilk) - or those whose cup is almost always empty.

On the other side you have the light - Those that have faith in the club getting the BEST POSSIBLE outcome and belive that ultimately the club will prevail irrespective of short term decisions.

Are you the classic fence sitter? (being hald white & half black)

What a pathetic laughable article from the Clokes.

The guy has shut up shop for 2012 and has been taking the piss out of the club in a season that promised so much.

I agreed with Swan being dropped for his indiscretion, but the guy busts his guts for the club week in week out, we should have dropped this ape who has done nothing but played protective football, in order to avoid an injury before pre-season for Carlton!
