So to summarise that article..........
Travis Cloke at the moment is "getting the job done", Craig Thompson never ever misused Union funds, and the Carbon Tax is going to save the world!!!!

After the fall out of the Footy Show debacle you think Team Travi$ would have tried to keep a low profile, yet I get to work and who do we see splashed all over the back page of the paper.

These clowns never learn. Club should stick to its guns over the five year thing. There are very few players out there who could possibly demand a five year deal and Cloke certainly isn't one of those.

AND Tony Abbott loves Refugees in boats. ! :P
In a way he kind of does, they're going to win him the next election :)

As for Travis, does another club really want the Pies having a spare couple of million to throw at other free agents? If there's any clubs I'd be avoiding opening up their salary cap it'd be Collingwood and Carlton.

+1

Not an ELITE player - just an above average, good player (average this year).

The guy has shut up shop for 2012 and has been taking the piss out of the club in a season that promised so much.

I agreed with Swan being dropped for his indiscretion, but the guy busts his guts for the club week in week out, we should have dropped this ape who has done nothing but played protective football, in order to avoid an injury before pre-season for Carlton!
yep choked on me porridge!

they obviouslt dont set high goals in that family (pardon the pun!!)

I don't think you have seen the footy show interview because if you had you would know he didn't say anything that could even remotely be construed as being controversial.

Like many people you are just relying on one or two false assumptions of what was said and from those purposely mischievous comments you take it further and call it a debacle.

Do your self a favour and go and watch it

I did watch it, and it came across as unnessasary. Who gets on TV during contract negotiations to tell the world how they are progressing in their pay negotiations?

From watching it, it felt like the Cloke$ had done it to garner some kind of sympathy from the Collingwood faithful but it seems to have had the opposite effect with many of the supporter group seeing it for the cynical action that it was.

No, I don't think you have seen it yet.
Someone else gave you their view of it and you are just repeating their words.
Please, go and watch it

^^^i just got off my lazy arse and watched it, and anyone who says that was anything more than a bloke being ambushed by parasites, is making shit up. There was nothing in it other than him talking sense and repeating he wants to stay.

And it's really not unusual for a sportsperson to discuss their future on a sports show.

The most recent article? All he says is he'd like to stay at Collingwood.

The sensitivity around this really is bizarre.

I could understand some anger were he to leave, though I'd not feel it, but people are even getting upset when he says he wants to stay. As I say, bizarre.
Well done boys!

I agree. I look forward to our drinks getting paid for after the contract signing.

Really not at all unusual for contract negotiations to take some time.
Well done boys!
