The topic: Brad Green, Melbourne footballer.
The location: General Discussion.
The rules: "Use this forum for footy topics that don't relate specifically to any of the other forums"
The thread move ..... placed, without excuse or explanation, in Nick's Sports bar.
How is this logical?
Weird, weird thread move defies logic

Simple - the thread is not about Collingwood.
Though it doesn't explicitly state it in the forum description, Nick's has always been a Collingwood forum, not a Melbourne or AFL forum.
And yes, I know there is 'Laugh at Carlton' thread, but the premise is Collingwood supporters specifically laughing at the enemy.
A"Laugh at Melbourne' thread would likely have been tolerated.

Phil, thankyou for that explanation.WhyPhilWhy? wrote:Simple - the thread is not about Collingwood.

A suggestion: to avoid further friction on the inevitable similar matters that arise several times a week, could we have the actual policy written into the forum description so that people like me don't wind up being totally bushwhacked when these inexplicable thread moves come out of left field?
If the rule is that "General" threads must be about Collingwood, then it is only fair and sensible to let members know that, rather than hit them with a "secret" rule after the fact.
(I'm not grumbling about this particular move, please understand - I couldn't care less about Brad Green's contract - I was just completely unable to find any logic in the move.)

How naive. You surprise me.Tannin wrote: A suggestion: to avoid further friction on the inevitable similar matters that arise several times a week, could we have the actual policy written into the forum description so that people like me don't wind up being totally bushwhacked when these inexplicable thread moves come out of left field?
Give them written rules and you will have topic after topic complaining about interpretation. This is the internet, every disagreement is a battle to the death.
