No, I don't think that, but just because Scully and Ablett did it, doesn't mean there's not the sincerity in Cloke.

Afterall it took Scully's dad getting a job at the GWS to help get that deal done, and Ablett was likely to head up to QLD as his family were there.

I haven't a clue what Cloke will do once the season is over, but that's a matter for when the season is over, for now he's a Pie. After that we can worry.

If Cloke really wants to leave, what's the point trying to keep him? Walsh has made it clear the club only wants players who want to remain, and will try and make that happen.

Cloke seems to want to stay, according to what he has said, so we'll see what happens. I highly doubt that any deal will be done until the season has ended anyway.

Now you do realise that Carlton will not be offering Cloke $1million per year? You do understand that right?

Carlton will not be able to offer Cloke anymore than the Pies, which means it is impossible for him to head to Carlton unless they trade for him. He can't get there as a free agent because Collingwood will match Carlton's $800K per year.

So if Cloke wants to leave Collingwood because he now hates the place, he will have the option of entering the draft where he will head to GWS. If GWS don't match his wage claims, it will be Melbourne.

If you say that Carlton will offer Cloke $1million per year, I know that you are lying. They do not have the room in their salary cap, unless senior players are willing to take a pay cut. So has your contact said that players at the Blues will take a pay cut?

Collingwood 'can' match Carlton, but 'will' we?

If Cloke went to Walshy or Perty and said 'hey fellas, Carlton have offered me a shitload more than what you're offering, so I'm out of here' would they match it? Would they not say, you dont want to be one of us, you don't want to make the necessary sacrifices, don't let the door hit you on the way out? Of course they would probably.

The Dockers seem to have a decent amount of cap, going by the offers they're supposedly have one the table for Cloke. Melbourne, if you believe all the rumours are looking at 7 years for about the same as the Dockers original offer.

Mainly sourced by news articles, and Barrett, so no idea what they have, etc.

There are going to be some posters on here with some serious egg on their faces in the post season.

the blues have more $$$ in their cap then what pies do.

the blues "front loaded" their star players contracts. which now means they have the cash to get a star player

Murphy, Kruezer, Gibbs, Walker, Warnock, Waite have all signed new deals within the last 12 months. If they have front loaded them over 1-2 years it doesn't make a difference because it's not as if these players are in the final years of their current deals.

I'd expect so, but it seems Gossage is trying to dismiss this as "bs" so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'm not sure if your question was serious, but this thread has become so bizarre I'm answering it anyway.:-) :-)
Finally someone can read
we can read. that's not the issue. it's whether we think you have any credibilty or, moreso, whether we can really give a f*ck believing you.
Well I am going to put this to Ed on Thursday. I am going to the Bob Rose lecture and Ed is giving it this year. I am sure Ed will be most interested to hear that Paul Connors, who is meant to be helping David Cloke in the contract negotiations, is bleeting to his brother that Cloke has gone to Carlton and that his brother knows some git, who comes on Nicks and says this to be the case. Trust me, Ed will tell me if this is the case and that they have known this for weeks. He will also be most pleased to test this theory with Paul. So if this is your source, expect a call, oh say by Thursday evening, correcting you.

As if Paul Connors would be discussing this with the likes of his brother and risk the consequences....you either need to have your ego stroked of something a little smaller bud...
