No of course not, we'll get rid of our premiership power forward and leading contested mark in the game for a lousy 300K five years from nowMember 7167 wrote:He is not forcing us to do anything. The club have calculated what he is worth (in their opinion) and the implication on the current and future salary cap.ClokingDevice wrote:He's forcing us to cave on the 5th year, Carlton probably can't do much better than 800K over 5 years according to reports today, and even then big name Carlton players will have to have payments deferred
But do we set the precedent of being intimidated into caving?
We will feast on their bones

Yep, stupid by the club but you will never get any support for that around here, most people have never liked the Clokes and love any chance to stick the knive inClokingDevice wrote:No of course not, we'll get rid of our premiership power forward and leading contested mark in the game for a lousy 300K five years from nowMember 7167 wrote:He is not forcing us to do anything. Make of that what you will. Not claiming it to be 100% accurate, just what Tom Harley said.
If he's telling the truth, why hasn't he made it public? He's a media darling isn't he? Why's he protecting Micky and Carlton? What's in it for him? A gentleman's agreement? Discretion? Why?
If he's lying, or making it up, what does that say about the regard media people and football people have for joe public?
Footy is a great game but the industry stinks to high heaven.

I don't think there was anything in it. It was a throwaway line and Hughesy was just pestering him with questionsPa Marmo wrote:True story.uuuuu..... The LoneSTAR wrote:Really?..... Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.
