Maybe things stayed the same & our collective emotions changed regarding Cloke.

If you go to the video the players are definitely treating him differently

^ Rubbish! The players are treating Trav the same way they have always treated him. They respect him, like him, and admire his strength and footy skills. That has never, ever changed.

The one thing that I'm a bit puzzled about is what the hell happened to that other bloke? You know, the one who's been wearing Travis Cloke's jumper and running out with the Collingwood boys every week since about April. Bit of a spud, that other bloke, and the players don't like him much, but I reckon we could pick him up on a rookie contract and try him out in the Leigh Brown role - you know, second ruck, forward pocket now and then, fill in as a key back if required, bit of biffo if the other mob gets too cute. Could be handy.

Or he's decided 100% he's going & simply recommitted to the boys for the finals.
Either way, the stress dissipates. Can't be so sure.

He was already committed to this year, the angst was over next year, recommitting for the finals wouldn't do jack shit

SO about three weeks ago did the management of MALTHOUSE meet with CARLTON to decide terms for next season ????

MALTHOUSE has not suddenly this week decided to be a coach again .

YES he has a right to do what he wants // but gee does he get verbose and try to play snakes and ladders to divert attention back and forward and bring his family [ his wife cries and his son finds it hard to cope ] in when he only cares about MOI .

Be a man and state the obvious MICK

So about three weeks ago did the management of TRAV meet with CARLTON to decide terms for next season ??????

Be a man and tell the truth David

Why has Eddie last few weeks been making noises about fitting players in CARLTON'S salary cap next year ????

A agree Trav looked like he was actually enjoying his footy on Sat night, where as he has looked to be going through the motions recently. Gotta find that finals-fight for Friday night - gotta want it more than anything!

Go Trav and go the Pies

Unlike other big head luminaries on this site, I am not claiming any special knowledge or waiting to say told you so. I have watched it all play out thus far from the same vantage points as the rest of you, I have just chosen to be objective, look, and listen and I believe it all points to him staying, that's my gut. If he stays I will be ecstatic, nothing more, nothing less, if he goes, I will be shattered, nothing more, nothing less I believe he is our most important player and I believe the club believe it too. I like Travis and believe he is staying.

Whilst I am pissed off with what has transpired and want an answer. Unless I am wrong (please tell me if I am), no matter what any other team offers him we have the final say and option to match it or let him go. He can quit and go into the draft but unlike the situation with Judd they do not have 1st pick and would have to trade for it. Also if he goes into the draft he has to nominate a salary and Carlton can only offer him what fits in their salary cap and the same goes for any other team.

Long way off and I am not as concerned now. I am over it.

Forget about Cloke standing up, he is long gone

Have you revisited your reliable source for an update of late?

AFAIK we have the right to match any offer but Cloke doesn't necessarily have to accept our revised offers.
As in we can't force him to remain at the Club if he choses to go somewhere else on the same pay.

Collingwood is reported to have already made its final offer of $800,000 pa over 4 yrs and a performance based contract in the 5th year. This has been rejected by Demir so unless he changes his mind Travis is gonski. I'm starting to feel sorry for the kid as I reckon he'd prefer to stay with us, but his old man has sabotaged that outcome.

If that's the case then it's not really restricted is it? I mean if he can walk even if we match the offer then there is no restrictions. The whole thing is still in the too hard basket for me. Although I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. ;)
