Should we go back to Arizona or what, come to think of it, we still got many injuries even after going there. Yes, perhaps a review of our fitness staff, something is not quite right, I don't think bucks trains em more than any other side.Brenny wrote:^ Quite right.
I'm being completely serious here, but I think the club need some form of internal review on the medical and fitness staff. How the bloody hell can we receive so many bloody soft tissue injuries year after year.
Are they pushing the kids too hard in pre-season?
In the case of Adams and his broken fingers; that's just pure bad luck, nothing the club can do about that.

It's academic now, I suppose, but I think that was being done for development reasons - it is both easier to learn to use the ball well off half-back and essential - every time you turn it over, it's a forward 50 entry to the opposition (or worse).Dave The Man wrote:Yep Playing Adams at Half Back really shows up his Weakness which is his Kicking.Az wrote:I'd argue Ball's absence has improved his game dramatically. It was the games where Bucks had him playing at half back that were horrible. If he's to be an advantage to our team, then he needs to be played as a permanent inside mid pinch hitting forward occasionally, NOT BACK. Well done to the kid, I'm quite happy to eat my words. Clean up your disposal son and you're going to be a very important part of our team going forward.
Playing Him in the Midfield and he plays really well there

so you optimistically have us making the second week of finals?????? In this fantasy of yours, who beats us? I would have thought if you are going to dream, you would dream the whole 9 yards and have us beating Hawthorn in the Grand final.leonmagic wrote:looked like he injured it early, top effort to play through the pain for the vast majority of the match. he has guts i'll give him that.
perfect for ball though - 6 weeks to see if he has another year in him or not.

I suppose on that logic none of us should post about injury updates that come from any credible websites that we read? Or any information for that matter. (Actually read that update from the pies twitter feed).E wrote:yes, we all read the AFL website!Az wrote:Got an update today about Adams. It's going to be a 12 week injury! 6 weeks in a splint and another 6 weeks ontop of that. These tendon injuries are absolutely killing us this season.

I know form would dictate Ball coming in as a replacement, but I see JT as a more natural replacement for Adams, though I admit it's unlikely. To me Ball looks shot for this season, seems to be another in the group of guys who have had horror seasons, a la Swanny and a few others. Bally has been easily among our top 20 for mine since he lobbed from St.Kilda, but this year he just seems to have forgotten how to play. I find this mystifying. Normally guys start to lose a yard of pace as the years advance, but to have two key mids just go from champions to fighting to hold a spot is just plain strange, & I'm yet to hear a rational explanation. Ball keeps showing that he still has the goods at VFL level, but seems not to be able to compete in the ones.
Still, I'd rather see a guy on his way up, like Kennedy or Thomas, despite a less-than-stellar season get the nod. Damn shame we can't use the opportunity to get a look at Freeman, Karnezis or Sharenberg, but for gods sake give Martin a full game, I really do believe that kid might have something very special.
