What a night!
Im sober as a judge having just knocked off work,nervous as a bride on her wedding night and just as expectant of whats to come.
And like most brides ,I wasnt let down.
Voss wins toss and kicks to the left of the page.
Josh wins first tap,bucks the first clearance and Taz the first mark.But the lions repel the charge until Cloke marks in front of brown,gets decked late and gets 50.passes to Bucks and the goal scoring has begun.
Already we can tell that there will be no easy ball tonight.
Its flood versus flood,even moses would have trouble getting anywhere tonight.
Lions go fwd Cole repels in one of many such manoevours he will do for the night.
In his first final,this kid stood up and told us..YES i want to play .
I have been a doubter all year,i no longer have those doubts.

To begin the 2nd term josh wins the tap, taz hands to bucks and he goals from 50.
We go fwd again at a ballup 30 out from our goal tex rushes in ,knocks akermanis on his arse blind turns around 3 brians and snaps a point that could have been goal of the year.
The kid has strength and agility and guts..you dont need much more to make it in the AFL.
The next 10 minutes are sponsored by jonathan brown as he single handedly took us apart,they score 3 goals.
Cloke has been good but brown just had that purple patch players like him can have,but can they do it all night? not tonight.
Ant marks on wing passes to lika as we finally get into the 50 Bucks shoots but misses PT.
From the kick in brians shoot fwd acnemanus runs along boundary almost on the fence,holds the ball sideways to fool the ump thats its in play still.infact it was more out than the harmes debacle ,then he slotted a freak goal on the run.
I felt a little sick.We get the fumbles,we muck it up Brown marks again but kicks OOF this time
We dash fwd Scoots runs the line gets pole axed,gets 50 passes to taz who in turn spots up Cole who runs into an open goal and kicks another rotten point.
Ant gets pinged for being jumped on at a throw in.
free kicks are now 12-3 their way.
Its a scramble in the brians fwd 50,we muck it up so often,we cannot get a free we rush them 2 pts.
Kinnear clearly held...play on!!!
taz marks a scotland pass at 50...GOAL!!!
Bucks is pinged for pulling scott off woeys face.Its unbelievable!!!
Johnno pings from 60,it bounces high over everyone and its a fluke goal.

just as the siren goes Cole is pinged for running too far.

We had weatherd half the storm to be within a goal.
Its tough,its hard,its slippery,its not pretty but it sure is dinkum

The 3rd term is a see saw affair.
Up and down the ground the ball goes as both backlines are in uber flood and its really silly why we just bomb it into the square with no one there all the time.
I know i was proven wrong,but i made a note at the time that i didnt think we could win like this.

Final term starts with Voss,keating and acne on the pine.
Cloke marks plays on and hand balls behind him OOB.
Maybe he is seeing team mates that are not there?
Every kick either way is smothered or wrappped up,its one of the tightest games in history.
We get a rare free,advantage paid and johnno misses from point blank.
ANT marks....No mark again..play on Cole runs into open goal and misses.
This affliction of missing easy goals is going to be the death of me.
Its hard on the ticker watching it.
We have the run,the legs,the will but we cant nail it shut.
Burns marks 10 out PT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUGGEN sake.

After 100 minutes of the most fearsome footy in years where we couldnt get a sniff of a free after being scragged, jumped on,hit from behind,belted in ears ,to lose the ball at a critical time in a qualy final for something as fuggin soft as that is just an absolute bloody disgrace.
Hang your heads in shame maggots!!!you want respect..earn it!!!

game continues now after tirade.
Brians snap for goal Lika gets a paw on it just in time.
From the kick in we work up the flank,Didaks gains possession has a little run and slots it straight thru the hi diddle diddle for a mighty fine 6 points worth of you little ripper!!!

Rex Hunts starts to warble,Joffa dons the GOLD and the most lovely thing ive heard all night happens.
SIREN!! we win and the song is played loud over the MCG with an accompaning chorus of 60000 very happy pie fans.
