I'd take Cameron in a straight swap, maybe even throw in pick 30 as well. He's the best young forward in the competition.

I like it but they don't have the money for him (I think)

Looks like they do actually :)
1116 SEN are reporting that GWS have made contact with Collingwood soon after the 5pm deadline, with a deal for Dayne Beams.

Beams is currently on his way Las Vegas with his Collingwood teammates and best friend, now Giant - Heath Shaw.

Both parties will endeavour to reach Beams in America with a potential deal to open up between the clubs, should Beams be willing to move to Sydney.

The same SEN that reported a deal was about to be struck for pick 5 and Aish? They have all the inside info ;).

Hmm. His Dad's ill. Wants a move north to be closer. Yet he's off to the States with a mate to party.

More like he just wants out for either money or doesn't like the club anymore or bit of both.

I struggle to share too much sympathy. Glad pies held their ground against the Lions. The "I want to be with my crook Dad" looks the a low percentage of the reason.

For Cameron we'd have to give them Beams plus plus plus.

Its certainly possible, there has been mumblings mid-season, he did put contract talks on hold yeah ?

But lets get real here - he is more valuable than Beams.
We would need to sweeten the deal considerably.

Beams p30 and Sinclair wouldn't cut it if i was GWS.
Throwing in another experienced player might.

Very impressive by all reports. Played all but 1 game and averaged nearly 18 disposals and 4 tackles.

AN_Inkling wrote:The Lions reckon they've "worked very hard" to get a deal done and that 5 + 25 is the best they can offer. Well that means they don't really want Beams, as you could not offer a worse deal without being laughed out of the room. They've offered the absolute minimum and given that Beams is still contracted there is no way we should accept and we should stick to the deadline, no more talks with the Lions.

Time for Beams to start thinking about whether there's any other club he'd like to be, the Lions just aren't that into him.
And you know what I get the feeling we might have seriously considered trading him if they had added the pick 21.

Yet Brisbane would rather use that pick on a so so player with a bad back in Christensen rather than try and secure a rolled gold elite midfielder in Beams.

Wow staggering.

And dumb.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

^^Apparently we offered that today. The Lions said they might have accepted but needed that pick for Christensen. The best they did was put 5 + 21 on the table for a short time.
