Beams you're going to Melbourne.
A fitting punishment.

Given we've had:
* Sacked / shock resignation of/by coaches;
* Unexpected departures, shocked departures, expected departures of players;
* Unexpected & shocked rulings by the AFL;
* Continuation of coaching by a coach most of us expected (& wanted) to be dumped (Essendon)
* legal involvement of the high court
& a lot more since last Monday morning then it only follows there will be a lot more to come till this Thursday afternoon.

the only way this will get through is because of pickering. He said last week that lions are light on the compensation. I reckon he has fuelled the fire but it might need a little more oxygen. I can see some sweetners in the deal, housing for family blah blah blah.
May the seeds of hope bloom into the eurphoria of success. Go Pies

Lions may be looking to deal Jack Crisp to get us another pick. We did already accept a bit less than 5, 21 and 25 so they'd be confident of their deal being accepted if they could find another pick in the 20s (I don't see how Crisp gets them tat; might have to think about a deal for Merrett). That's if we don't hold firm on the deadline.

Edit: actually, seems that this is an attempt to revive the 5-team trade and offer something a bit extra to Geelong. If that's the case we can still keep our word of no more negotiating. We already accepted this deal, it's the Cats the Lions have to deal with.

It's getting curiouser & curiouser. Lets hope it doesn't end in a "pool of tears"AN_Inkling wrote:Lions may be looking to deal Jack Crisp to get us another pick. This is the deal the Lions seem still to be working on. It was initially rejected by Geelong. It would seem if they can get the Cats a bit more by trading Crisp for a pick then it could be a goer. We did already agree to our side of it so we'd not be breaking our deadline .
Geelong: Clark, 30, 48
Melbourne: Lumumba
North: 25
Brisbane: Beams, Christensen
Collingwood: Varcoe, Greenwood, 5, 21
Not overly happy with this deal but it's not atrocious. It's far better for the Lions than anyone else though.

Beams and lumumba for 2 and 3 is a good one.
That makes the dees more competitive immediately, compared with more draft picks that have lost their lustre for dees fans after watts, scully, trengove etc, it's a great deal for them.
If the saints take a tall picks 2 and 3 will be the guys we would take with 1 and 2.
Yes I know he wants to go to brisvegas but it isn't our fault that hasn't happened yet. I wonder how much Melbourne could offer him
