Adams had a slow start to the year but there's lot to like about him. He wins his own ball, he's tough as nails and he will be a future gun for the next decade with our club.

He showed enough this year that things will be promising for him going forward. We need to be patient with him and not be so critical with him so early on in his career. I really thought people being critical of him were overly harsh on their assessments and very impatient on what he could produce.

However the two things I think Adams will need to improve going forward on is his disposal efficiency and leadership skills. His ability to win the ball is excellent especially at his current age.

Fits in with the recruiting of players with below
standard kicking abilities. See this years batch
( Crisp, Greenwood and Varcoe )
Don't think a kicking specialist will help that much.
You were doing well till you included Varcoe: He's a good kick.
True.
He is not a bad kick.
Biased against his lack of pressure.
Coloured my judgement.
Averaged just under 4 tackles a game last season, try again. He's not as 'soft' as some would have you believe.

I think the comments on decision making effecting one's disposal is fair enough, it's also down to confidence in yourself and those around you in my opinion.

As a team, we were horribly inefficient with the ball last season, there's no denying that fact, but there were more than a few players on our list who were able to dispose of the ball relatively efficiently in seasons past but seemingly forgot how to kick at all last season.

For me, that's got as much to do with the pressure from opposition teams and players confidence in their team mates and themselves eroding as the season played out, not to mention the fact that our movement up the ground was often quite static and as a result we were kicking to too many contests (or trying too hard to kick away from them, leading to easy turnovers).

I've been a big fan of Taylor since his GWS days and was impressed with the improvement he showed in the second half of the season. He's still young and has plenty of time to work on his technical weaknesses, but his mentality is spot on and that's something that you can't really teach people. I think he'll be a key cog in our midfield unit for years to come.

He improved when allowed to play as an "in-and-under" mid, which is the only position for him.

This young group has lots of raw talent so we must have the quality team leaders
and coaching/fitness staff to compliment them,
By grabbing Balmey to run the the daily chores of team managing and fronting media
hopefully Bucks and his group can concentrate on being the mentors to develop that
talent.
Using Jarrod Witts as an example they took raw quality of a non Aussie rules kid and
he has grown better and a future asset--so whats done once can be repeated
We all have our opinions but are at one to see our young side become a power
I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right

Read the Cats fan sites.
I read a lot of other fan sites to see what is going down.
Varcoe's lack of pressure is often sighted.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Reading it on a fan site doesn't change my opinion to be honest.

Firstly, they're Geelong fans, secondly, sports forums are rife with scapegoating and irrational knee-jerk opinions so they're hardly a source of rational wisdom.

I'll stick to the opinion I've developed from watching him play myself for now.

'Angry' Adams after more responsibility

Post by Dave The Man »

TAYLOR Adams is determined to own a position in Collingwood's midfield in 2015, saying he would be "angry" if coach Nathan Buckley wasn't thinking of giving him an opportunity to cement himself in the side.

Following the departures of Luke Ball (retired), Dayne Beams (Brisbane Lions) and Heritier Lumumba (Melbourne), Collingwood's midfield is suddenly light on for proven options.

Asked whether Buckley should consider him as a candidate to step up and fill the void, Adams was typically forthright in his response.

"I'd be pissed off if he (Buckley) didn't," Adams told AFL.com.au.

"There's a handful of guys there that can do it and if I wasn't in that handful I'd be pretty angry and disappointed.

"I think I've done enough developing to certainly step up."

Adams, 21, is set to enter his fourth season in the AFL, with 2015 marking his second year at the Westpac Centre after being part of the deal that sent Collingwood favourite Heath Shaw to Greater Western Sydney ahead of the 2014 season
Gotta Love that Confidence but he also has to Back It Up.

I think he is good enough to do that though

Adams Part of the Leadership Group?

I love the fact that he didn't just walk into CFC last year and was handed a spot on a platter. High profile low draft pick swapped for an established champ in Heater; he coulda just thought he was a monty in the 22. 12 games and the improvement between the first and last was marked. Will be the making of him. Expecting big things.

Reckon he'll be ok, just not sure he will be great. Confident he will give it all, either way.

Midfield only please.
