Allan kicks deep inside 50, DE GOEY uses his body well and marks!

And from 25m, DIF, PUTS IT THROUGH!

Pies are home now, you'd reckon!

Karnezis chips up into the pocket, Manteit slides across and marks!

From 45, 45 degrees... misses.

Mennen takes the easiest intercept mark you will ever see.

And from 30m, 45 degrees, right on the siren, PUTS SOME ICING ON THE CAKE!

Pies win!

Siren.

FULL TIME.

Collingwood 12.12.84
North Ballarat 8.10.58

Over to you!

Good effort, seemed to take a while to settle though, heavy rotations might have impacted that.

Dwyer BOG in the first half but didn't reappear after half time. Security for the seniors you'd think.

Freeman and Moore the best for the Pies over 4 quarters. Reid good but didn't play the last.

Marsh good early but faded. De Goey and PK quiet early but got better as the game went on. Witts solid. Gault really good. Maynard, Goodyear, and Manteit had their moments but still a bit of work to do on tank and 4 quarter efforts.

Dave unusually quiet until a raucous call of BALL got him fired up with some choice sprays in the last.

Off to Etihad, will post more when I get a chance.

Agree with most of that.

Thought Goodyear showed some real promise, and Moore was very solid.
Freeman was very active, getting involved in much of the play. Likewise DeGoey.
Maynard and Manteit showed glimpses but also showed they will need some time (Maynard stuff ups cost us at least 2 goals).
Marsh looks promising and I reckon Cox will make it.

Biggest smile of the day come towards the end of the 2nd quarter when some Nth Ballart thug tried to rough up DeGoey and he was having none of it and Freeman and Maynard were quick to come in and offer support. Seeing the 3 young bulls step up and take no shit was great to see. All of a good size, too.

Biggest bummer was not seeing Abbott play.
kill for collingwood!

Yeah, would have liked to see Abbott. Should have also mentioned Cox, his soccer goal was special, clunked a few marks and the intercept and play on was very good just over cooked the pass into F50.

Should have said honorable mention to Armstrong, was a general across half back.

Liked some of the VFL guys. Hellier, Taylor, Allan, Moloney, Wills, and Mennen all held their own.

My Thoughts:

Moore will be something Special. All Been Mentioned already. Smart User of the Ball

Good to see Goodyear have a Good Game. Speed it good thru packs and mostly used it well

Marsh was Solid down back. Kicking has Improved

Witts and Reid getting thru was great to see

Freeman started slow but good after that

De Goey was sold and Mad good Descions

Cox was winning ton of taps and took a couple of Strong Marks

Maynard was also solid. Loves the Physical Side and uses it well. Loved the Run he got up from Backline to have a Longshot on Goal. But sadly came up short

I thought Freeman was BOG. Dwyer was heading for BOG but didn't play second half. Freeman's continuous running was a highlight. He was involved in chains of possessions where he won the ball, kicked nicely and then was a target further down the ground a number of times. He has the speed, exceptional endurance and goes in hard. A very nice balance and as the game goes on his influence increases as other players tire but he doesn't. Thought Moore was good and looks like his great agility is going to make him damn hard to play against. He seems to get a hand in the play like a spider. Marsh's kicking has improved a helluva lot. In fact the clearing kicks across the back line was great. It's obvious the future kicking talent at our club is currently in the VFL.
