RIP. Ron Clarke: A really great bloke had a lot of time for young aspiring athletes. Was not fortunate enough to be at his best at the Olympics one of my all-time sporting heroes. He was famous for destroying world records over all middle distance events nothing better than his 27.39 for !0000 in the mid 60's lowering the record by around 40 seconds!! For such a big bloke he was great to watch run!
Along with Herb Elliot we were a powerhouse!!

Very sad day. Our primary school had three sporting houses, Clark, Elliot and Landy. I was in Clark House and very proud of the fact too. A truly great runner who held so many records. Pity he just couldn't manage to win gold on the world stage when it mattered most.

RIP Ron.

I really can't believe this. I'm in shock right now. This is one of the last things you expect to read when you wake up in the morning. He seemed like such a passionate football person. R.I.P. Phil. The football world will mourn your passing for years to come.
The only stat that matters is whether you win or lose.

Shocking, RIP to the ex-Pie and Crows coach.

So very sad, most fans will be shocked, has been a player and coach that was extremely well respected at so many clubs.
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

Puts winning a game of football into true perspective.

Deepest sympathies to the Walsh family. R I P Phil Walsh

Very skilful, pacy winger who had a great debut year at Pies before joining Tigers.
