Good its easy produce your selections and we can compare them to what Hine thinksthompsoc wrote:Mate look at the phantom draft it is easy!neil wrote:Thompsoc let us know who we should recruit through the draft and why.
We can compare them to Hine's actual selections
There is a whole tribe of decent football scribes who rate the
top 100 potential draft picks every year.
But no it is such a mystery science only a guru like Hine can
work it out.
Give me a break!
FFS how easy was it picking Moore and DeGoey last year!
Every scribe had them in the top 10 last year.
But to people like you it is rocket science!

How many years did Swan, Didak et al take to become "A graders"?
Have Hine's recruits been given the same amount of time?
What part does ladder position play in your ability to land A grade talent? Surely it is harder when you're up the top of the ladder?
Should Cloke be included when he was father/son?
Shouldn't we include the ability to find a 150 gamer with late picks as a quality good recruiters have? For example, Goldsack at 63?
In 2009 we recruited Jolly and Ball with our first 3 picks. Shouldn't they be included in Hine's list?
If Nick Davis gets in based on one game, Dawes should get in on half a season.
What part does development and team success play in determining the worth of A grade talent?

You start opening up the floodgates when you refer to Lockyer, Scotland, Fraser, Rhyce Shaw, Nick Davis, Maxwell and Harry Obrien as examples of A grade recruiting.thompsoc wrote:Yes Jackcass was right- he did agree that it was 2005 that Hine came on board.thompsoc wrote:Must have got under Jackcass skin.
You should control your anger better.
But what a great reaction!
Loved his vitriol!
Makes up for all his boring and mundane posts!
So just to balance the ledger with a few of the players you missed on the Hine side of recruiting:
2006 McCaffer
2009 Jolly, Ball
2010 Sinclair
2011 Elliot, Williams, Witts
2012 Broomhead, Ramsay
2013 Scharenberg, Marsh, Langdon, Adams
2014 Greenwood, Moore, De Goey, Maynard, Crisp, Varcoe
2015 Treloar, Aish, Howe
Your argument nows starts to disintegrate.
The Judkins nadir is his horrendous recruitment between the years of 2001-2003, namely:
* Luke Shackleton (pick 29)
* Tristen Walker (pick 71)
* David King (not the good one pick 58
* Bo Nixon (pick 21)
* Luke Mullins (pre-season pick 7)
* Mark McGough (pick 43)
* Brent Hall (trade pick swap for Scotland)
* Shane Woewodin (pick 14 trade bust)
* Richard Cole (pick 11)
* Billy Morrison (pick 17)
* Brayden Shaw (f/son pick 32)
(plus Danny Roach bust)
These busts in the trade period meant we only retained Heath Shaw (father/son) and Dane Swan come 2006 when we started playing finals again. This was a huge impost on Malthouse and the fans alike.
Judkins should have been court marshalled!
