Have to wait and see if they're allowed top up players first but if they are you'd think players like Still, Close, Moloney, and Pendles would come into their thinking. Think they'll more likely look at players like Crowly and Dwyer who've only recently finished at the top level though.

AFL has said they can have 10 Top Up Players.

I see the ones might lose could be like Still,Close.Pendlebury and Maloney

Familiarity with their system would also come into their thinking as well.

James Polkinghorne and Jordan Schroder are recent departees from the AFL system who played for Essendon's VFL team last year, while Clinton Jones played as a top-up in last year's NAB Challenge.

I hope the AFL tell them to recruit from their own VFL list first before plundering the rest of the countryside...

Those VFL contracts would all have "get out" clauses in case higher duties became available and it's unlikely any VFL club would stand in the way of any player getting an AFL shot. It would be at the discretion of the individual player to determine if they stay or go.

Carlton will come on quicker than many seem to appreciate, they've recruited really well.
