Interesting Cloke was playing on a better quality key back in the VFL than what Essendon are playing in the AFL.
Grima retired cos his back was futterly ucked, needed serious surgery. Without his back problems he would have played a lot more AFL games than he did, if fit certainly better than Gwilt.
I watched the game while preparing dinner, then the son and grandson came over and I only saw bits of the second half, but looked like were were seriously depleted and accordingly pummelled.
What's happened to Witts? Is his hand still keeping him out?

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I asked the same question. MB said got an infection on his hand. The ball was barely there for Cloke & more often than not he was double teamed & ball was delivered with the usual level of efficiency. Not his fault & it was not an opportunity to play him into confidence - probably the opposite - Buck's timing was impeccable in terms of when to omit Cloke to regain formstui magpie wrote:Interesting Cloke was playing on a better quality key back in the VFL than what Essendon are playing in the AFL.

Partner is a neutral observer, basically observed that the Bombers had quicker players, ran on to the ball, our rucks mistiming their jump at the centre bounce, Bombers got most of the clearances and as is the way when you are playing well, ball seemed to bounce their way - even when there was a miskick they seemed to mark it, sometime just by putting their hands in from of their face.MagpieBat wrote:Seriously, if you looked in on this as a neutral or even as a casual VFL watcher, you could almost be forgiven for thinking that this club is broken...

Okay thanks.MagpieBat wrote:13 AFL boys for us today. They had 18, of which Jamar/Crowely/Simpkin/Grima/Polkinghorne/Michael are top ups.swoop42 wrote:So how many AFL listed players did we have compared to them?
And how many of those are simply top up players for them?
As long as the bombers don't suffer a mass exodus of the currently banned players there gonna come out of the drugs saga with a strong balanced list of young early draft picks and experienced talent.

Most of those top ups would be in the top 2 or 3 players of any VFL list and a few are currently better AFL options than the kids Essendon's rightly preferencing getting games into.MagpieBat wrote:13 AFL boys for us today. If Essendon's injury list remains virtually non-existent (currently 3) their VFL side will be tough to beat to the flag.

based on what i saw, i am fairly confident we'll be seeing poor trav at cranmer street next saturday. forget about the delivery to him and the fact he looked like a christmas tree on more than one occasion. non factors.Dangles wrote:Yeah, couldn't get a read on Cloke from that. He looked lively in the first quarter and he didn't seem as hunched up when he was having his set shots. But after that it rarely down there and when it did it didn't go in with any precision.melliot wrote:Regarding Cloke. I don't know how you could judge anything on today. Hardly a game for him to get an opportunity to get some form. Playing the Bombers in AFL, would have been better.
I guess another stinking decesion in the end. Everything is just rank. Like a rotting road kill. Nothing is getting better. Only worse.

Wow! Fantastic result! We avoided the hundred pointer!!!
Boy can practice match form ever be deceptive!!!
If the Seniors have a similar game and a similar result we'll be making a big announcement before the week is out! God I hope it's to say that Bomber Thompson is taking over! We could play finals yet!!!
Although both our percentages are so screwed it aint funny!
