Wills faded in second half after big first half.

Clokey played a decent game-looked to have hunger back- couldn't have done mcuh more (apart from running into goal at end rather than handballing!)

Golds played probably his best game.

Nathan Brown did a few good things- but noticed he was pretty lazy in getting back a number of times (not that it ended up making any difference).

Caff- Ok- good VFL player these days- on-field coach

Goldy was pretty good, and might be ready.

Oxley was good- but still prone to strange (and slow) decision making.

Promising season and bodes well for the future.

Thanks again MB
Disagree about Aish
Caff and Goldy best days are behind them
Agree about Wills..... big upside there
I really liked the defense and I thought brown was great
I liked golds game today.
I was the only person who thought Aish's game was average
That's coz your a football genius.
Do you think Golds played a better game than Aish?

thanks scoobydoo.
Thanks for recognizing that I have some understanding of the game.
As for Golds.
It has nothing to do with who was better Aish or Golds
It is about upside son, not who was better on the day.
Gold hasn't had any support so far this year amongst posters.
But I did see a little bit of talent there today
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

I also thought Aish was BOG. He certainly wasn't pretty but in those conditions not a lot is. He just kept getting it in tight and moving it forward. Not many of his disposals hit a target but he could grab the pill in the scrum, and get it on his boot, which very few could do.

Brown and Wills also very good, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Wills after another preseason.

Who did you think was in the bests, Thompsoc?
kill for collingwood!

Woop De fcking Doo.

While every other club simply uses the vfl for preparing afl players we convince fans to get excited about winning a few vfl games by stacking the backline with aging stars and relying on vfl listed players who actually care.

Just shameful.

Silly post, T.

There is a strong link between success at the lower level and success at the highest level. And for your average long-suffering supporter, a bit of good news is at least therapeutic in the midst of the current malaise.

At least the club (much as I might have misgivings or criticisms against it) is good enough to put those tapes up for people to enjoy and make up their own minds about. Much, it must be said, as other clubs (including Melbourne do). And many Nicksters used to hop into the club for not caring about winning in the VFL. Now they're supposed to just go through the motions again?

You attack on Luke is misdirected and unnecessary...

Stats over on the VFL site, which is the one that actually breaks down kick and handball effectiveness (not that there would have been much lace-out passing on a day like Saturday):

http://www.foxsportspulse.com/round_inf ... 3-0&pool=1

Some stats have been revised, including the tackle counts. Macaffer's been docked one (obviously for not showing up on From Lulie Street this afternoon), Oxley's been credited with another one, while Cloke's gone up 2 tackles to 10 (which is more than all 3 rucks and White yesterday put together), while Aish has gone from 32 disposals to 34...

Channel 7 replay is now up. You can enjoy it for the next 4 weeks (and really, it is the only thing to enjoy out of this awful long weekend)...
