Anyone who thinks I went to far asking for Ed to be sacked should ask themselves if they would appreciate the same words said about any Woman in their lives...
No I didn't think so
Violence is not just action
Words can and usually do begin most violence..
If you think it was just boys being boys then we are still in the bad old days..
Why are you not calling for the others to be sacked?

If this was said about me, a woman, I'd laugh it off, I'd line up on the slide next year, and challenge Eddie as to who can stay under longer. It's for a great cause, 50,000 goes a long way.

If you said it about my daughters, I'd have a witty comeback, I wouldn't want you sacked. It's not like Eddie has ar inning joke vendetta against her. And by the way, should she be sacked for all her nasty articles about Eddie?

When did we get so precious we can't take a damn joke!

I grew up in old Australia so in principal I agree with most of the underlying sentiments in here but really Eddie should know better.

There a such a loose amount of attitude for violence against Women...
Zero tolerance
He has to either do a course publicly or go...
Otherwise in my eyes he is a leader of our club the condones violence against Women...
If anyone can highlight a similar case in the media against another journo then step forward
Zero tolerance of violence against women is a ridiculous concept.Of course the club condones violence against women, as does the AFL. They have no issue with women being concussed, breaking bones, tearing ACL's & hamstrings, having teeth knocked out & faces scarred. The new women's competition is not MMA but these events will occur. We accept this as reasonable but a harmless joke that will not lead to violence is not?

Eddie's mistake was assuming that Wilson was equal with him and could be treated the same as a man. He failed to appreciate that the sexes are equal except when someone with access to social media or in need of column inches or radio time deems that they are not.

I mentioned earlier in this thread hypocrites with agendas. That is even more in evidence now.

On 3aw they made exactly the same comment of 'holding Caro under water' with her in the same box!! She didn't seem too fussed by the comments by her colleagues....

Reports on AFL.com this morning, Caro calling Eddie's comments viscious and payback because he doesn't like her taking him to task. Take away the fact she's female, and it's a storm in a teacup, I believe, as all the criticism is centred around the "violence towards women" theme. Eddie can sometimes be an idiot (like all of us) but has the profile to attract media wide attention. Who's comments are worse, those from Eddie or Scott? Eddie needs to apologize for his comments possibly being misconstrued in a manner unintended. I don't think Eddie was advocating violence against women, simply giving Wilson a dose because he doesn't like her. Perhaps he should have directed it against Robbo.

The only thing I'm angry at Eddie for is apologizing.

Banter or not, it was a childish thing to say. But that's triple M footy these days.
A bunch of overpayed egos who think they're funny.
Maybe they should leave the comedy to professional comedians.

Eddie overstepped the mark here regardless whether we like Caro or not.
Cringeworthy.

He's done what he ought to have done from the start - even then he qualified it.

Even if you don't believe what he said was stupid, thoughtless, clumsy, sexist, even misogynist, apologising is basic damage control. For someone purportedly so media savvy he wasn't so media savvy. - to say the least.
