I find it hard how anyone can take moral highground these days. As a society we are picky and choosy about what we decide is right or wrong all depending on the weather outside.
Flavour of the month stuff. Why did it surface a week later? Why couldnt we be accountable for our actions and why did it take a woman on a twitter account or whatever to decide if this is right or wrong.
Too many opinions, too many chiefs, too many cooks, too many blogs, too much information.
Every single person has a right to be treated nicely not just Carro ffs.
Treat EVERY F$#@ER EQUALLY!!
So sick of hearing people whinge. If you get a good lawyer you are in the hunt. FFS I might go get one for all the times I was called a "[snip]" and slandered for my heritage.
So does that mean that I cant tell my male mates when they get sooky, that they should "go put a dress on and some lippy and Ill take them shopping". Does that now become a derogatory remark because it makes them associated with the "weaker" sex.
We have come a long way since the seventies in many aspects but we are now far too much of a nanny state.

It's all too much really. The PC police aren't saying you can't make jokes, just that you can't make them about certain protected species. Jokes about men and mansplaining? Yes, of course; those sorts of jokes are everywhere these days. Jokes about gay men? No. Nowadays if people express the wrong views about women, gays, muslims or jews they are set upon. So many people ready to take offence and to be outraged.
Everyone gets made fun of for something. It's never 100% fair. Jokes aren't always fair. I made a joke about Asian drivers at dinner the other night and was quickly jumped upon. Sure it might not be 100% true, but well, pretty much. Asians are terrible drivers. Ask an Asian if you don't believe me.
Are we losing our ability to laugh at ourselves? Are certain groups a bit too precious? Is even good humoured banter now off limits? It appears so; even here in Nick's.

After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

Carowhine Wilson , and all those on her flimsy bandwagon, should sit down and watch watch what I just saw on the BBC. The tributes to Jo Cox MP who was murdered when her crime appears to be caring for others, asking for a fair go and respect for others. There is something worthy of outrage.
Wilson even went as far as put blame on Martins chopsticks offence as him hanging around with Swanny. Can you imagine the outcry if Ed had said I will double the amount if she doesn't wear a bikini. As for Holden, i am sure Eddie can upgrade from a Lexus, get a real luxury car. When is somebody going to realise. Most people are not stupid and can see it for what it is worth and don't effing care.

Couldn't agree more. It is about time the media in the Nation decided what was important. Penny Wong should have more sense than to to throw her hat into this ring.
OH well. Eddie could retire, join the board of a few casinos etc, and live his life out in luxury. But he doesn't. He wants to make a difference, Anyone tell me what Wilson does for the greater community but then she is is married to a corporate lawyer. Wonderful examples of humans they are.

Thanks for the understanding. But the figures are wrong. The majority of allegations made by women and their AVOs are fake. Ask retired lawyers, serving police officers, retired judges, the counsellors who write the family reports. It is a cruel game that works because fake allegations keep children away from dads for two years because that is how long it takes for a court to have a hearing. False allegations are rewarded and never punished and that is now set in stone thanks to Gillard. Most of the allegations are violence in the form of verbal, financial and sexual abuse. There are not any witnesses, proof or police. There doesn't have to be. An allegation is enough now. False allegations are rewarded and so the court system is full of people with personality disorders using DV to destroy other people. That is what we have now.stui magpie wrote:it's not cool. I raised 2 kids as a single father and I have serious empathy for any Dad going through that system or losing access to their kids because someone bullshitted the system.perthmagpie wrote:How many years will dads like me not see their child because the pendulum hasn't swung back yet? I should just suck up the broken system till one day this pendulum swings back to some sanity? Ok, then no worries. It's no big deal losing your child to the DV industry and feminist laws. Wonderful system. Let's just let this crazy stuff keep going for another few years while 7 men commit suicide everyday cos the family law system took their kids away because of DV allegations that never have to be proved. Yep that's cool too.stui magpie wrote: Look, if that is the case it's an over correction which will self regulate. I don't have a lot of time for the family court system, but If you encourage more woman to report and do something about violence (which is a good thing) you have to accept that with the increased reporting comes a larger number of bogus reports. It comes with the deal.
But the number of bullshitters is small compared to the number of genuine cases and we need to encourage the genuine cases to come out and get help.
FWIW, you have my sympathies, I hope it works out..

Warwick Hadfield weighed in on ABC radio national this morning. He referred to Alan McAllister's comments from 1993, linking it (I assume) to the current situation to show that Collingwood hasn't progressed in society.
His tone was akin to "when will they ever learn?"
I worry that life will imitate art. "They're gonna get ya Ted". What would Laurie Holden make of it?

Quite frankly, this discussion does not belong here. But I have to say your comments are insulting to the real victims of crime out there. My mother was a real victim, several of my friends of my vintage have a simular story. Beaten so bad at three I couldn't walk for a while, I saw my mother humiliated every day, and once, knocked out cold. At 18 I stood in front of my fathers fist before it connected with her face. I still bear the scars of my bully father in my soul, it took me years to get some self esteem. Decades. My mother is in the ground, beaten down, she became ill, cancer twice, and then finally dementia. He lives alone, far away, not 1 friend left. Twisted still. I talk to him once in a blue moon, for my piece of mind that I'm not so damaged I'd spit out my own father. But I will never forgive him. And I can never forget. Thanks so much for the tears running down my face right now. I'm about to hit the gym to stop them cold.perthmagpie wrote:Thanks for the understanding. But the figures are wrong. I'm sure there is woman out there telling lies. But don't kid yourself there isn't even more woman hiding an evil secret they are too damn scared to tell.
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!
