Whatever, if hed said the jibe about Robbo, nobody would have batted an eyelid, least of all Robbo. Caro has often made snide and personal remarks about eddie, and hides behind her poisoned pen. I always thought real journalists were supposed to be hard nosed types, impervious to jokes and jibes. One rule for some , one rule for others obviously.

I've just become aware that Caroline is actually her second Christian name. Her first name is Julia and she has been called that by some particular people on several occasions and because she doesn't like it got stuff into them verbally. From now on to me she is known as Julia Wilson.

The thing is, I and many others do not believe that the language used was in any way threatening, nor was the tone or intent it was delivered in possibly able to be considered threatening.
I certainly do not condone or support violence against women in any way, shape or form, but I do not agree with the assertion that Eddies comments in any way condone, support, encourage or make light of violence against women.
I'm also personally tired of being lectured at about violence against women when on average 1 in 3 victims of domestic violence are male, a male is twice as likely as a woman to be murdered and the majority of victims of violence in general are actually male.
Maybe the debate should be reframed to be about Violence in general rather than gender specific, but I guess that wouldn't work to the lobbyists agendas.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
A question for those PC individuals. Here is a media person that has been and was at the time promoting a particulate charity. Over the last two years this individual has has significant influence on the success of this charity and has given it publicity valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. As a result the financial success of this charity has exceed all expectations.
During on air discussions he made what is now perceived as a controversial comment. This comment was heard live by many people but from my understating no complaints were lodged with the broadcasting authority of the radio station.
We all know what has occurred over the last week. Do you think it fair that Eddie has been marginalised and bullied over the last week due to his comments? Do you think that Caroline Wilson has been honest in her dealings with this matter?

I think it might have been on 3AW where they pointed out that someone had seen her check into a hotel with an assumed name, sometimes it's Julia and sometimes it's another name it was pointed out either last year, or the year before on Footy Classified and the radio. She wasn't amused one bit.
It is not acceptable for the President of Collingwood, or any other club for that matter, to make jokes which are demeaning or disrespectful to women. However, Eddie's comments were neither demeaning or disrespectful to women. The people linking Eddie's harmless joke about wanting to dunk a journalist in an ice pool - which Eddie himself had been dunked in to raise money for charity - are a disgrace, and are disingenuous. To be honest, I am disappointed Eddie and our club apologised. Eddie had nothing to apologise for.
