RudeBoy wrote:It is not acceptable for the President of Collingwood, or any other club for that matter, to make jokes which are demeaning or disrespectful to women. However, Eddie's comments were neither demeaning or disrespectful to women. The people linking Eddie's harmless joke about wanting to dunk a journalist in an ice pool - which Eddie himself had been dunked in to raise money for charity - are a disgrace, and are disingenuous. To be honest, I am disappointed Eddie and our club apologised. Eddie had nothing to apologise for.
You've summed it up well.
This has been a total circus from the start and no one cared before it became front page news on Sunday night and everyone became 'outraged' and 'offended'.
I wish people would just let it go now, and move on both parties have agreed to move on. Eddie knows he was wrong, we all accept that it was wrong so hopefully they let it die.
Though I am sure the next time someone says something this will be dredged up again. It's amazing how many women though I have come across have said this was blown up and that it wasn't sexist, and all that.
But in the end who cares, if Caro is offended she's offended but going as far as to label it it's just annoying.

Agreed. A bloodbath of missing (and manipulating) the point.
