Tricky. The wind is coming across the ground, north east to south west, so it's not quite favouring one end per say the way the ground has been re-oriented, but having said that, anyone who has watched plenty of VFL knows that the scoreboard end has historically been the scoring end of Eureka Stadium, so it can't hurt to be kicking that way.
We'll have that end in the last, so if we baten down the hatches here in the third, the game is ours to lose...
Thanks, MB. I was kind of hoping that wasn't the case, given the way the boys have been falling away some weeks in the last quarter. As you say, though, if they hold the opposition in the third, the 'pies should be able to hang on, with a helpful breeze.
Stephenson won it down, but Borthwick does the roving, loops it out to Wills, Rupe unloads a tumbler towards the goal square, foot race on, Crocker can't soccer it... BUT DOLLY GRAY CAN!
Turnover by the Roosters trying to get out of defensive 50, Ferguson terrific pressure, spills for Golds (what the Hell is he doing down here?), Golds KICKS IT OVER HIS HEAD!!1
Oxley intercept marks at HFF, sends it screaming back inside to 50, Crocker spoils from behind, then butters up to tackle, pops out to Ferguson, who snaps to the goal line, Wills marks!
From 15, almost 90 degrees... Rupe goes the Stevie J... and GOALS!!!
I should note, during that burst, the wind had eased up somewhat. It's now picked up again and the Roosters have it more or less penned in their half again...
