I don't see why. There really hasn't been anything to criticise over our management of Scott Pendlebury.
Cloke, "most important player". Yer right. Remind me, which planet are we on again?
Cloke stopped being important four years ago. Sadly, we only realised this and started to focus on players who are important about two years ago - and the results are there to see: players like Treloar, Greenwood, and Adams are taking us to another level, and will be the foundation of our success for the next five years.

P**s take right? have you even watched the Pies over the last 5 years??? you had zero credibility before this post and now you've dropped even further....
Perhaps Cloke thinks a new club will help him with his confidence issues, and make him a better player. We have tried very hard to fix him, even dropped him down to the VFL so there was not as much spotlight on him to try and fix his issues it hasn't been a full on fix.
You can blame the coach all you want but he has brought people in to help Cloke with his issues, had people working with him. Trevor Hendy was clearly brought in to work on his confidence didn't seem to work either.
I doubt the club has sat there and said "Let's screw Cloke up and then kick him out of the club." No they want him to stay they have said that.
Everyone comments as if they know the inner workings of the club, and then blame Buckley for it all. You act as if he's sat around and ignored the issue that has been Travis Cloke. Unless someone goes into the club and sees what goes on daily no one knows what is going on there.
And no one knows what is going on in Cloke's head, whatever reason for Cloke wanting to leave is his. Even if it was the coach, you have no idea what transpired all you can do is guess without fact.
I wish Cloke all the best, I hope he can improve himself, and I hope Collingwood can be fine without him.

Agreed and Cloke had the same problems under Malthouse and everyone tried to help him back then
These attempts to rewrite history so that Cloke suddenly had accuracy problems after Buckley took over is stupid

Time to retire.
Highest paid most important, sat on the naughty chair til he was pushed out, and I've been to every game in Melb and a few interstate that I could for the last 8 years! You questioning me too?
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Hammer. Nail. Head.
Not trying to pick on trav here, but apart from his conversion in front of goal, what are the key differences between Trav and some of the great key forwards of recent times?
There's a few things that could be said, but my head goes to what I call Footy IQ. Game sense.
Just interested in others thoughts, without descending to character assassination.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Did kick some monster goals, but more often than not, could not hit the broad side of a barn door, or an elephant at ten paces, and that wont change at his next club.

My mate who is a mad freo supporter reckons mayne has had the kicking yips for a couple years now.
Replacing one yip for another yip!
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.
No matter where Cloke plays next year, I think the pressure on him to perform will be substantially greater than this year and, potentially (unless someone can assist in keeping his head above that pressure), his performance could slip significantly which could see all remembering him for failure instead of some of the great football he has played at AFL level over the years.

Usually when a troubled player goes to a new club, he is liberated because he is freed up from his own dickhead fans who heap pressure on instead of helping him. Look at how heath shaw's game improved when he got a fresh start. Look at his brother too if you want another example (at a lower level of quality).

Heath was already AA quality when he left, he just need to be taken down a peg or two and stare at his own football mortality so that he would pull his head in and be part of the team again instead of just doing what he liked, when he liked.
Ask the Carlton fans about Daisy and his contract. If you don't perform at your new club the fans are well, less than forgiving rather fast. I'm surprised Jesse White can still hold his head up given the sh!t pie fans have given him. Jetta is finding it pretty tough at the Eagles after being a star at the Swans too. All depends on how well you can play in the new system without your old mates giving it to you. If you can win your own ball you'll be fine. Or kick straight when you get an opportunity. With Crameri back I think the odds are shorter than Cloke will stay.
