Nonsense. Cloke would very likely be much more accurate with a change of clubs. A big strong lad like him who is having difficulty with the Woods should certainly switch to a different club. He always gets plenty of height on the ball, so my thinking is that the perfect club for Cloke might be a one iron. The real banksy wrote:If Cloke had of kicked straight in the 2010 GF there would have been no need for a replay. A change of clubs will not fix his problems.

There's a reason most iron sets start at 4 iron these days!
I think he's been using 1 iron his whole career!

Less margain for error, helps you focus on rolling the ball towards the cup instead of "hitting" it.
Not recommended over a 10-12 year career though.

I carry a 1-iron in my bag to hold above my head in the event of a lightening storm. Not even god can hit a 1-iron......King Monkey wrote:Ever tried to hit a 1 iron??Tannin wrote:Nonsense. Indeed I have. A one iron is a helluv a lot easier to hit in the vague, approximate direction of the fairway than a wood of any kind is. Well, that's my experience, but I never did get the hang of hitting with a wood, so maybe I'm weird. In the end, I learned that it was best to leave the woods in the bag and just use irons for everything. Lost a bit of distance but at least it mostly went in around about the right direction most of the time.King Monkey wrote:Ever tried to hit a 1 iron??Tannin wrote:Nonsense. I never actually owned a one iron, just borrowed one to try out for a few rounds, but I used a two iron off the tee for a good while until I got a bit smarter and decided the thing I liked best about golf was walking around on the grass listening to the birds calling and enjoying the sunshine, and that stopping to hit the damn ball all the time was the most annoying part. I daresay my clubs are still buried in the shed somewhere.
