We'd be just thrilled if White or Cox or Moore or Blair or Fasolo or Elliott or Broomhead (or Mayne) went into a 3-goal-per-game decline for a season.
I don't agree with the timing of when he declined.

Credit where credit is due, you set out your reasoning and support very well and I can see how you came to your conclusion.

It is just I trust what I see before any stats.

mooretreloar wrote:thompsoc, I also suggest that you read the U18 All Star Game thread. I made observations regarding Josh Daicos and Callum Brown watching them in this game. Despite sarcasm from other posters and comments like I rate them higher than others, I stuck to my guns.
They both ended up in the best players for their respective teams, so as I said I call it as I see it and I am doing the same with Cloke.
I only watched a little of that match.
But I did see Daicos shanked the ball 3 times in a row.
It got me wondering.
Is he a good kick or not.
Maybe you can enlighten me on that.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Back on topic...

Watching the drawn grand final doco, that game seems to sum up Cloke's career. Made some easy mistakes in front of goal that put fans and teammates on edge, but also took some telling marks, converted, and kicked the crucial goal to ensure the replay.. amd subsequent glory.

So I want to remember that part of Trav's contribution to the club, and still hope he goes down as a club great. Not many players have a flag and a B&F next to their name. But... I also still think it's right that he's moving on, and even wish we had of done it sooner. The club is always bigger than the individual, and Trav has been in a downward spiral ever since the season in which he pondered over signing his big contract. I now just hope we get some sort of value in return for him... after we've already blown our chances of gaining genuine compensation and cap space, when he first entertained leaving...

Spot on. In hindsight we should have let him go at the end of 2013 and we would have got 2 high draft picks or a high draft pick and a gun player, which would have put us further down the road in our rebuild. We should get something of value for him, but the main aim is to get his salary off our books.

Ore than happy to be wrong about Buckley, I've said so many times, just not feeling it, especially on grand final day.

Back on topic, if Dogs lose badly today, I still cant see a lumbering and slow forward in cloke, with his constant goal misses, aiding them one bit. But hey, let him go there, and I reckon also that Jong will not want out of the kennel, after starring in the VFL, and being overlooked today, he will be royally pissed off, and will want out, to us perhaps. Swap cloke for jong. !

I still don't get how a premiership contender thinks Cloke has value, and we at 12th, don't! What is Jong going to offer us? We don't need him, we need KPPs

Tom Boyd stars, no room for Cloke now. !

Post by Piesnchess »

With tom boyd starring for the welfare dogs yesterday, I reckon the doggies will drop the Cloke speculation idea, faster than a hot potato. They really don't need him, and they would know that now. Reckon old man Demir cloke might be pushing shit up hill relocating the fruit of his loins, Travis, to another team. Perhaps North melb, I dunno, what does cloke do now. :?

I disagree. In the Grand final, even with Tom Boyd, they had to play Liam Picken as their effective CHF. Throw in Cloke at CHF and they would be a much stronger team imo.

Throw in Cloke at CHF and their current game style is over

Did anyone actually watch the GF? Their forward line was garbage for most of the day. They were just lucky that Sydney's forward line was even more inept. Cloke very much needed to defend their crown.
