RIP Les.
A true great. What a life!
Got here as a refugee and ended up an Order of Australia and a complete cult hero and pioneer. I feel very sad at his passing.
An intelligent, witty, dedicated, humane individual.

Very sad news. A wonderful gentleman who was one of the pioneers of football growing in Australia.

He was a part of my childhood when I used to grow up watching The World Game every Sunday for six consecutive hours of non-stop football coverage on SBS. This was before YouTube was around, and SBS dominated the football coverage.

I used to see him as a grandfatherly figure along with others I've spoken to today who are my age and grew up with him on our screens. It's very sad to hear of his passing and knowing we'll never see him grace our screens again.

He's with his best mate Johnny Warren now.
