Tim Cahill

Post by Pies4shaw »

Tim headed home his 49th and 50th international goals last night and was, in short, the only reason that Australia got past Syria to the final stages of the World Cup qualifiers. Time and again over his ridiculously long career (he's in his late 30s, now), he's stepped up when it was required. He must now be under serious consideration for the unofficial title of Australia's international team-sport GOAT.

Absolutely. I can't think of anyone who has delivered more for their country when they've needed it most

Brilliant player and astonishing to see how well he's doing at 37 years of age.

The Socceroos defeated Honduras 3-1 on Wednesday night to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Whether we've seen the last of Tim Cahill for the Socceroos remains to be seen.

Spoiler alert - he's going to come on in the 87th minute of the game against France on Saturday night with Australia in desperate straits trailing 1:0 and score the equalizer in the 96th minute.

Later, he will go on to become the only man ever to represent his country at 7 World Cups. #TimmyforCanMexUSA2022

Good to see him get a run in his final World Cup game. He's been an ornament.
