Australia is in Group C with France, Denmark and Peru. If we aren't beaten 8:0 by France, this might be our Cup. No Italy, no Netherlands - there really isn't much competition. Brazil and Germany are in Groups E and F, respectively. If they manage to finish first and second in their groups (either way), they will play each other in the round of 16 - that would clear the way for us to reach the Final, at least. Anything less will be failure. After Iceland and Nigeria knock Argentina out of Group D, we should get easy passage through the round of 16 (Tim "Wodin" Cahill to put a hat-trick past the Vikings). After that, it is a little more difficult to predict the match-ups - but my octopus says it will be Australia v Panama in the Final - and all Panama's strikers will miss with second yellows from their Semi-Final.

I don't think there's much doubt about the outcome. The lads will do it for Les.

Think France will be looking to smash us in game 1 so they don't have any issues with goal difference and getting bumped out by Denmark or Peru - if we can survive that game without getting annihilated, we may have a small chance to make it through to the 2nd round
