Don't give them ideas, Stui - there's another 4 hours of polishing the Lamborghini to be done before the juniors get to think about stopping for the day.stui magpie wrote:Poor game, really have some work to do but thanks very much to P4S's PA's junior intern for all the work in posting the details. Much appreciated. That should at least earn them the right to smell dinner before retiring to the garage.
2019 VFL R4 vs Ess (Sat 27 Apr 2pm @Windy Hill) LIVE STREAM

Since people are going to read these comments and start calling for the inclusion of certain players into the seniors, it will be as well to say that the only player in the team who played senior-standard football for any substantial part of the day was Reid. He may be back up if we're desperate. The rest of them are a long way off. Kelly and Quaynor look like they will eventually be good players. Bosenavulagi was almost unsighted, save for one good rundown tackle. Wells is about 6 weeks away. Goldie looks further back. Wills could not possibly be considered for a game on that display - he was thrashed, like the rest of the mids, when the game was on early; they kept getting outside of him and he justs lacks the leg speed to do anything about it, even at VFL level. Broomhead completely lacks any physical presence and will be used as a witch's hat by opponents if he is ever brought into the seniors. Crocker looked OK at times but, really, starting at FF in that side he was never going to influence the game.

Ultimately we lost the game in the first quarter where we trialled by 3 goals despite kicking with a 2-3 goal breeze.
Fair to say the coaching group was livid at quarter time; both Lockyer and Rivers dished out a fair spray. The crux of those sprays was that we went away from Collingwood footy, didn't make the game a contest, let their players run loose by not coming up with them and our senior players failed to set an example.
It was pleasing to see our effort eventually lifted and we didn't cop a 10-15 goal loss, but it was too late.

Last comments by me.
Reid played well all day.
Moved well with no lack of fitness or restrictions.
Wells had a poor first half but a very good second half.
Looks slightly over weight but should probably play 1 more week in the vfl.
However, he may come in next week.
Daicos was not sighted.
As I said in the game commentary I can see why Brown plays in the afl and daicos in the vfl.
Quaynor played ok in patches. But I do believe he is not ready for the afl.
Wills sometimes was a beast in the midfield but he did get caught a few times and butchered the ball a few times.
Kelly is pretty skinny and had little influence on the game but he maybe a good recruit
Broomy game was ordinary.
Goldsack could not get into the game.
Lynch was ok and batlled hard. Still too skinny and is a project player.
Joffas relative could not also get into the game.
Overall i thought the first half was dreadful.
But the second half showed a much better team.
Finally, I thought trav cloke as a runner was a real surprise to me and it was good to see him back to pieland.

Hmm... Much more positive take than P4S's.masoncox wrote:...

Must be unusual to see a runner towering over the players. What are the runner rules in the VFL?masoncox wrote:...

We'd need a few injuries, he looked like Butterbean out there and barely got out of a jog. His footy brain is still there, and his skills, but like Reid you can put a line through him saying "only select in case of no one else standing"

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Gus? Brighton? You told us a week or two ago that for personal reasons Gus is playing with Old Melbournians this year. Or do Old Ms play in Brighton?Pies4shaw wrote:Pardon me - that was a seniors moment - it was Gussy Borthwick that went to Brighton.Pies4shaw wrote:I notice I've called Oxley a couple of times. This is the problem with live television - you mis-speak during the "colour" commentary and everybody knows.K wrote:Gus? Brighton? Dennis Cometti always did his research and never made these errors.
I confused OM with Brighton - this is the sort of mistake a boy from the Northern Suburbs can make in the heat of the moment - does Brighton even have a football team?

One of my staff years ago played for Brighton in the South Eastern Football league. They are called the vampires I think. Or maybe the vultures.
Old Brighton Grammarians play in the ammos.

Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.
