I was astonished to read that Trump is proposing sending people back to work in a couple of weeks. Surely cooler heads will prevail there, right? If not, at the rate they're going, the US might well end up with more deaths than China and Italy.

His cuts to their public service were bad enough but that also included the specific area of virology.

Given the 2T dollar stimulus package is more than an entire year's budget, it's lucky Trump didn't waste trillions on tax cuts for billionaires and drive up the deficit, and didn't abuse executive power to fund giant unproductive vanity projects such as a ridiculous border wall, and avoided a massive expansion of the military budget, while helping build mutually-beneficial relations with trading partners through productive trade policy, and in any case had the market running slightly undervalued if anything because the central bank was able to do it's job and keep things in good order.

It's called a 'rally-round-the-banner' effect, and it's a weak one at that.

Even so, two votes for George W. despite two lost wars and a financial crisis tells you all you need to know about those numbers. Forget tuna; your assets have been skewered by a marlin and are deflating at a rate of knots. Those numbers are aimed at you as much as anyone; imagine what the maniac can do to you if he gets another term. Perhaps the astronomical 3.3 million people filing jobless claims in a single week can advise.
