Correct.

BLM's objectives include:
- Defund the police.
- Dismantle capitalism.
- Disrupt the traditional nuclear family structure.

Sounds like a Marxist utopia.

Apart from the Attorney-General apparently arranging the tear-gassing of some priests in Washington, there doesn’t seem to have been much targeting of Christians or their monuments, so far. I’d be extremely surprised if churches “are next” just because one random loudmouth has “a cunning plan”. Some of what he says is right, of course, about the representations of Jesus in church art - but I don’t really see this becoming a movement.

I hope nope, a relative of my friend in Georgia had metal and other objects thrown at her car on Sunday when driving into the church carpark,

the one in Denver is beautiful, its close to the convention centre where Mecum Auctions is held,

First trip to Denver we stayed about a klm from the convention centre and the 16th st mall, the black taxi driver from the airport told us not to walk down the street we were staying on, as there is a large homeless shelter around the corner. me and junior arrived after hubby to Denver, so we caught a taxi to the auction, but after that we walked everywhere, even to the baseball a couple of k away. the 2nd trip it was just me and hubby & i got a good deal right next to the convention centre, less atmosphere, beautiful hotel. the 16th street Mall is a fabulous place to see the melting pot that is the southern states, (same as Miami foreshore near heat stadium). they have live music on several locations, and small plays on stages, lots of food trucks, Saturday night there is just brilliant. The weed probably helps! Just a totally awesome time. Im so glad they are keeping it peaceful.

It just looks like indiscriminate vandalism, mostly graffiti, doesn’t it, save for the express reference to “pedofiles”? Moreover, most of it seems to be trivial - not excusable, just minor in impact. What did the buildings next door look like after the same protest events - were churches targeted or just there? Why those particular churches? Are they just in open spaces where people can easily congregate? Did they have especially blank walls suitable for graffiti? Are the protesters attacking the “Southern Baptist” style churches, as well - or were they just doing this selectively at places they perceive as bastions of white privilege?

It doesn’t look like a special new trend, to me - the first report is from 1 June and when one searches “BLM damage to churches”, nothing More recent leaps out. If this were a serious “thing”, the mainstream media would have picked it up: there’s nothing they like better than a bit of juicy coverage of frothing protestors committing violence.

to me all of it looks like random and indiscriminate graffiti,

did you by any chance click on the other three links, where BLM and/or its followers are behaving reasonably? or do you just want the negative?

I was responding to the concern you were expressing in your previous post, actually, and trying to offer you some reassurance that it doesn’t look to me like burning down churches in the US is going to be a thing.

I don’t know if anyone needs this hot take, but I reckon attacking symbols of Christianity and places of worship is extremely stupid and a godsend for Trump and the Republican Right, in that it gives them the opportunity to put culture wars into hyperdrive. Probably Trump’s best hope of winning the election, Biden’s senility aside.

As with the suggestion by the Greens senator to rename Victoria, I find it interesting that the more radical identitarian leftism gets, the more it seems to fixate on symbols rather than structures. Picking a fight with White Jesus is peak id-pol.

Agree on both counts. Attacking a person's belief system and/or symbols of that is only going to get their back up or piss them off, it's not going to change their mind.

And it's far easier to focus on symbols rather than structure. Structure requires something tangible, able to be measured and critiqued.

It’s all a bit wish-washy, too, isn’t it? Whatever happened to good old-fashioned revolutionary values like flaying one’s enemies alive and putting their heads on pikes on the road into town? If these people had a gun and me against a wall, they’d probably talk to me for so long trying to persuade me to stop eating meat that I’d fight them for their gun so I could shoot myself.
