Hawthorn legend Don Scott drops bombshell salary cap cheating allegations
One of Hawthorn's greats says there are question marks over the club's golden era of the late 1980s and early 1990s, with allegations the club was cheating the salary cap.
Yes, they'll run an inquiry into all premiership-winning teams in the season between 1989 and 1991 and determine that Scott Russell was given a Mars Bar by a supporter after a game without declaring it as a related payment and - hey presto - Essendon will have their 17th flag.
Always thought the hawks of the 1980's were cheats time to hand back their cups. Hawks probably did the same in the 2013-2015 flags too in these years.
Other clubs i have suspected done the same are Carlton 1987 and 1995 and Essendon in 1993 and 2000. Also Brisbane in 2002 and 2003.
