The irony of this being the first all-Victorian Grand Final since 2011.

Can't say I'm surprised by the events of the past two nights.

Brisbane has never appeared good enough to win the flag while Port never quite seemed genuine Premiership material either in comparison to Richmond and Geelong.

What a nightmare next week is going to be now as the thought of another Richmond flag isn't placated by the thought of Selwood, Ablett and Dangerfield leaving the field with a premiership medallion.

Stuff them both.

No asterisks now.

Two teams that haven't been at home since Round 5 make it to the Grand Final.

Huge effort by both.

I never rated Port Adelaide and Brisbane Lions throughout the season. I guess Port Adelaide peaked too early winning all matches in the hub in Queensland.

The Queensland Government/Premier tried to buy the Lions a Premiership this season and sunk millions into these hubs to find that neither QLD teams made it to the GF.

Taxpayers money down the drain.

But its a huge relief to see those cheats from 2002/2003 get denied a home GF after being bought them with salary cap concessions back then.

and due to the reduced capacity at the gabba it will be easily filled. Mostly by club supporters but just alot of Queenslanders who support other teams but want to experience some sort of GF.

The problem with this years GF is not that its in BRISBANE, but that its at night..A lot more impotence for the AFL in future years to want it at night, as they can point their finger at a spreadsheet from this years GF and show what the TV ratings where etc.

Sadly I disagree. Richmond will be just too bloody good in the end☹️
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Here's me hoping for a Walking Dead type zombie apocalypse to hit by say friday, even if it's only in Brisbane, to derail this farce of a season...
