Pies4shaw wrote:^ I think it is probably about timing. Apparently, the senior team is not permitted to train today, so it may just be that the difficulty for Sier is that the VFL is playing today, rather than tomorrow.
The senior team was not allowed to train, were told to get tested and isolate til they get a negative result.

Obviously Sier couldn't do that between this morning and 2pm. it's conceivable that we may have players who can't play tomorrow as their result hasn't returned in time.

They've been much better in the contest in the second quarter, so far. Cox kicks the 'pies second and it's just 10 points the diff. Poulter has been prominent - he just hit the post a few moments ago with a magnificent long kick with a heavy ball from outside 50.

Gee, outside of Cox I dont see any tall potential KP players in our VFL team.

Our squad is weak this year too.

Wilson shows a lot of promise. He could make it. You've got to bear in mind that they've removed 5 players from this team from last week - and because of the COVID restrictions, players that might have come back and made things more solid (like Sier) are not able to play. No Murphy and no Kelly, either, by the way.

So few players out.

Explains our lacklustre performance so far.

Sam Fowler gets a free for a throw and kicks Collingwood's third. Just 5 points in it, now. Given the lack of any contested ball mids, I think they're doing surprisingly well.

3.8 to 4.7, 'pies trailing, at halftime.

Goals to Lane, Cox and Fowler. Essendon were goalless that quarter.

I like the look of Poulter. McInnes looks a likely type, got a bit of aggression in him too.

^ Poulter is plainly the most talented Collingwood player out there, on his showing this week and last week.

Henry has a goal but Essendon have 2 this quarter. They lead by 10 points. They have the scoring end in the 3rd.

Given his great form he will no doubt be the next to debut in the senior side.

^ The wheels are off the bus, now but Ginnivan has pulled one goal back. Essendon 10.10, Collingwood 5.11.
