Agree. It's getting out of hand now.The Boy Who Cried Wolf wrote:We're pretty much in agreeance Jezza, look we desperately need change but clearly what we need most is leadership.
Serious leadership is required right now.
It should be a prerequisite to be a passionate Collingwood supporter to be on the board.swoop42 wrote:I might lean left but even I have my limits and appointing someone to our board that doesn't bleed black'n'white goes beyond woke to being just a plain joke!
We're being run by idiots.
If board members have no emotional investment in the club, then they should not be sitting there.
Agree MM.Mr Miyagi wrote:It’s an opportunity to use the club as a platform for her causes, not to lead and represent the club. That’s what irks me
It looks like a poor appointment

Before anyone jumps to any conclusions read the announcement on the CFC website. Waislitz had intended to step down as soon as a replacement was found.
Regardless of who she barracks for lets just give her and the rest of the board a chance. Quite frankly we may never know if this is a good appointment or not.

Well, this is what you get in a corporate structure when you let a demagogue like Ed run wild, no questions about it, where is the succession plan Ed? Why is your Board so shithaus?

Succession plan didn’t involve Lumumba suing the club and the media circus/ambitious board members forcing Ed to quit.Ronnie McKeowns boots wrote:Well, this is what you get in a corporate structure when you let a demagogue like Ed run wild, no questions about it, where is the succession plan Ed? I don't agree with this, you need diversity and different backgrounds within an organisation to succeed. It should be a prerequisite to be a passionate Collingwood supporter to be on the board.
If board members have no emotional investment in the club, then they should not be sitting there.
Otherwise you get a board/organisation that becomes insula and can't see the big picture. A bit like the board we have had for the last 10 years!

Great to read this comment as I had resigned myself to the belief that feeling this way was very old fashionedPies4shaw wrote:There is something wrong with professional sport if people on the controlling body of your club don't barrack for it. It's no wonder there's no passion.

Super excited to be joining the board of @CollingwoodFC
I hope to contribute my skills to a great group of people that’s seeking to help make a great club even better. When I first moved to Melbourne I supported plenty of clubs but as a member I’m absolutely pumped say #GoPies[/quote]
She says she has supported a number of clubs and is now a member, which is somewhat reassuring.
Of course, if she became a member yesterday, not so much.

Reminds me when Paul Keating joined as Collingwood’s No. 1 member although we have never had a membership ranking system based on celebrities. It was just political expediency. Bob Hawke was Sydney. However Senator Ray Richardson (I stand corrected on the name) was a devout ‘pies man. Former premier of Victoria, John Brumby who I knew from Bendigo was also a passionate magpie.
