Korda interviewed on SEN this morning. “I know she has been a long-time supporter. I have seen the images of her with the Footscray AFLW jumper on but she has been a long-time supporter of particularly AFLW and has supported Collingwood for a long time.
“We have brought Bridie on because of her excellent credentials in women’s sport … and a supporter of Collingwood.”

She said on 3AW, she’s been a member since February 2020 (15 months ago).Pebbles Rocks wrote:Apparently the club constitution requires a board member to have been a member for at least 2 years unless they are elected by the members.
I fine it hard to believe she has been a member for that time...
The provisions in the Constitution you speak of can be found in paragraphs 30(a)-(b).

I'm sure I remember a photo of Gough Whitlam (the most unlikely football fan in Australia's history) wearing a Collingwood jumper.Lazza wrote:Reminds me when Paul Keating joined as Collingwood’s No. 1 member although we have never had a membership ranking system based on celebrities. It was just political expediency. Bob Hawke was Sydney. However Senator Ray Richardson (I stand corrected on the name) was a devout ‘pies man. Former premier of Victoria, John Brumby who I knew from Bendigo was also a passionate magpie.

Eligibility issues are now being raised as I suspected it would.

Man, the haters are out early on this one. She can't just appoint herself in some form of ego trip as some people seem to be implying. The majority of the Board needs to agree and they obviously have.
I know next-to-nothing about her, but to suggest this is all a big conspiracy theory to keep the current board in place is ridiculous - she's from way outside the usual gene-pool we generally see.
Mind you, it appears WHOEVER was appointed (or even stuck their hand up) would be pilloried at the moment.
