AFL make another jumper clash mistake

Post by magpieazza »

Dont think Im the only one but I am always dumbfounded when jumper clashes happen.
A professional organisation cant keep making what seems like at least one jumper clash mistake every friggin year. So unprofessional and really frustrating especially for the Demon fans tonight.

Demons should make AFL pay them compensation just for the sake of being so dumb.

What clash? I was watching and it never once occurred to me that there was any difficulty in telling the teams apart.

Dees was too close so they will wear them next week. It was bound to happen when they have a new one every year. It is hard to really pin this on the AFL. Have a look at some of them, hardly recognisable as the teams they represent and some are so cluttered with symbols that they look all most the same.

Perhaps the answer could be have one team a week wearing one and instead of naming one round after one player we look at honouring 18 players. Essendon-Norm Mc Donald eg. And change that every year. Geelong would love a Polly Farmer match and Richmond a Maurice Rioli one tco.
Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.

I didn't notice the clash but am also sick & tired of the jumpers fast becoming like the ARL - from about the Super League - with players looking like running billboards.

Sure, I fell in love with the game in the 50s, when all jumpers had on them was a player's number.

Are we really heading for an issue when sponsorships clash ?!
Donny.

It's a game. Enjoy it. :D

The draw was out before the jumper designs were finalised so the AFL could have directed clubs to use a particular colour as the base, eg. Melbourne predominately red, bulldogs predominately blue.

I don't get the fuss - I watched the game and was never confused at any stage by any suggested "clash".

No, I think the "clash" relates to the fact that Melbourne couldn't wear their indigenous round jumper tonight.

Instead, they will be wearing it next week against Brisbane.
