The way I see it is that currently there are two main opinions on this issue. The first is that the only way forward is to sack Bucks and appoint a new coach. The second line of thinking is that Collingwood needs to retain Bucks but provide him with new assistant coaches for supportive roles and to provide different strategies, tactical advice and game plans. To me the least disruptive option is the second one but I feel that the most likely outcome will be the first one to satisfy those fans baying for the blood of the coach who ironically bled for Collingwood during his playing days and gave his all. I can’t see a compromise because of the vast differences between the two camps. Sadly it will signal end of Buckley’s involvement with the ‘pies, with the very fans who cheered him now turning their backs on him. It’s a shame that it has come to this because as Kevin Sheedy said today, if in the 2018 GF that last West Coast kick from the boundary had been a point, Bucks would have been a premiership coach. Such are the vague happenings in life Life’s a bitch and then you die.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

And he needs to have the balls to support the coach when things don’t go to plan instead of being a jelly back swaying with the breeze. Good luck to him.DT wrote:Interesting question who will stay and who will go.Jezza wrote:Sizer, Holgate and Wilson probably stay if a "peaceful" transition occurs.
Murphy, Licuria and Korda contributed to McGuire's exit and O'Donnell's appointment has caused too much angst among the members.
I think Korda and O’Donnell should go but don’t know enough about the remainder to have a view.
I think the Board needs to get back to grassroots for all teams (men’s women’s netball etc) and make it a priority to become a members’ club again rather than some kind of ???
Browne is effecting a silent coup but has the EGM behind him so he appears to hold a winning hand.
I hope he is a good president as we really need a clear leader who is unafraid to represent the club.

Browne is less certain of the Presidency if it goes to an EGM as any eligible member could run, albeit he would still hold the upper hand.DT wrote:Interesting question who will stay and who will go.

What happens if someone such as Peter Murphy breaks away from the current board and decides to run at an EGM on a separate ticket?
My understanding is there's been a divide within the board itself, and that's why it took so long for Korda and Murphy to settle on who would be McGuire's successor, so I would be keeping a close eye on Murphy and what he may do next.
Korda seems resolute that he's not stepping down, even after having formal discussions with Browne in the last few weeks. We know Browne wanted to fill the vacancy that was eventually given to O'Donnell, so he's made his intentions clear of wanting to be involved with the club.
The next step for Browne is to formally announce his ticket and outline what he plans to do. The members should demand transparency from him.

I agree thats why i really like what he is suggesting. but then we are trusting his judgement!WhyPhilWhy? wrote:I wouldn't necessarily vote for a whole new board / against all the current board. In fact, most if not all of the current version are excellent Directors.
I'd just like to be asked occasionally and remind them they are supposed to be accountable to us.
