"Regime change is never easy. The words of an angry Steven Lowy warning his rivals to "be careful what you wish for" following his ousting in December 2018 still hang in the air.
...
Johnson also needs to get his team selection right.
Since the demise of the Lowys there has been a huge clear-out in the ranks of the FFA executive team. Aside from Gallop, the likes of Emma Highwood, the head of the women's game, Luke Casserly, head of high performance, and Luke Bould, the chief commercial officer, have gone.
The new boss cannot achieve all of his challenges alone. Like a top coach he has to set out the tactics and game style, but choose the right players to implement his vision.
He will need to recruit wisely if he is to succeed, and rather than look outside the game, as his predecessors have done, it might make sense to look to proven performers within the sport who at least have a deep understanding of Australian soccer's culture and the way it has to fight for its corner as a "challenger" against the behemoths of AFL and rugby league."

"... Ange Postecoglou has been sensationally made favourite to take over at Scottish giants Celtic- and if he gets the job it would be a massive boost not just to the Australian game but to all aspiring coaches from this country.
...
While Celtic fans are reportedly in meltdown over the prospect of the little-known Australian - in European markets - getting the job he has certainly earned the right for a tilt at a job such as Celtic."
