pack of dicks.
Unfortunately this and the 'pub crawls', kids sleepovers, picnics in parks, sneaky trips to holiday homes & regional areas just demonstrates that people can't be trusted to do the right thing. People are so entitled and used to doing and having everything they want.

Why not punish the wrongdoers, rather than punish everyone? Surely incarcerating a few would stop people. Put them in jail, even for a week.

And this:
The Victorian government is set to reimpose a nighttime curfew on Melbourne as well as closing playgrounds in response to increased non-compliance.

The city lockdown is also set to be extended by two weeks from Thursday, senior state government sources have told the ABC.

Unsurprising, I've been watching the crowds in the park next door every day there's been some sun. Kids all over the play equipment, parents sitting/standing around chatting.

Victorian Premier says: Too many cases, too many mystery cases. 15 chains of transmission. Lockdown extended for 2 weeks, with more onerous conditions. Extended to 2 September.

Premier's specific comment on the "engagement party" - angry, shouldn't have happened - 69 people at that event and there has been transmission there. What makes him really angry is that each of the 69 people, their contacts and their contacts' contacts will have to be interviewed. Contact tracers will have to spend 100s and 1,000s of hours doing their work. While doing that, they're not chasing other cases.

Does it matter that they're "Jewish"? Aren't they just arseholes?

The Premier continues: From 11.59 pm tonight, the lockdown is strengthened:

- curfew from 9 pm to 5 am. Asking people to observe that from 9 pm tonight (although rules don't take effect until just before midnight);

- exercise is just that. You and 1 other person from your household or dependents.

- No removal of masks to consume alcohol outdoors.
